Today I was pretty much outraged when I was working on a Photoshot of some stuff we were doing in the Grignano SIM (I hope that's spelled right) anyways without warning half the Grid went down due to a small memory leak that they had to fix... And I say without warning because we all went down with the SIMs that went down and they didn't say anything about it before they did it... I understand that they have to fix things nothing against that but fair warning please... And as far as the disappearing objects... I had two objects out in that SIM on someone else's land... Well when the SIM finally came back the two objects I had out were gone... I checked my inventory over and over again for about 10 min and it wasn't there... I don't know if it will come back eventually but for right now I'm out of a Unique object that I built (thank god I had a backup) and a pose ball with a pose in it that I didn't have a backup of and don't feel like paying 250L again for... So I contacted a Linden and was told that they weren't able to retrieve lost objects and sorry... I'm not mad but why am I paying for a pay service (For the two accounts that I pay for 22 dollars every 3 months and 40 dollars in Land Teir... That's an average of close to 48 bucks a month... more than my cable bill) that clearly states that the objects we own in game are our objects... Now if these objects get deleted from the grid because of a misshap I could understand but this was because they rebooted a bunch of SIM's without notice in game... Now I don't know about you but that seems like Destruction of Property to me but I don't really know... I know the Metaverse isn't perfect... But there has to be some sort of resolution to this problem... I mean... We pay them an amazing amount of money and all we get are SIMS that are slower that some of the others mostly because of hardware differences and yet still the same price per month... How fair can that be... Let me know your thoughts on this all... I would really like some feedback... I know it's stupid to whine about 250L but say I was a budding newbie building my first object on my plot of 512 to try and make some money... And all the hard work I put into my object just goes poof with a simple crash and all I got was an Ooops.. We are Sorry...

IMHO

yeah hera seems that is the only excuse we get is an im sorry.. its not their hard earned monies going into the game .. either it be objects we buy or land we buy.. still all the same.. ive had things go poof on me but not in that manner usually out of my inventory.. at some point the im sorries does not work no more .

Its very unusual, surely, for them to deliberately take a sim down without giving warning.
How are you so sure they did it on purpose at a time they chose, rather than something crashing on them ?

They took half the grid down today and forgot to warn us... They took it down because of a few memory leaks in the SIMS they had to update some code or so I was told... Which I understand has to happen... I mean problems arrise... The warning didn't really bother me... I'm just worried that someone working on something for a long time might run into the same problem and lose countless hours of work in the blink of an eye... And they didn't warn us until after the SIMS went down... Because we all looked at each other afterwards and tried to figure out what happened...

That being the case, I agree they are much to blame. Not good at all. We are entitled to adequate warning unless this is impossible.

Same thing happened to a neighbour of mine he was telling me. Just bought about 5k of items put them in one of the rooms of his house - sim goes down and when it comes back up, all gone.

How many more times can LL shrug and ignore this happening?

I really have no clue what can be done and I understand that they are facing problems of their own... And I don't wish to anger anyone about the situation... There has got to be a rational fix for this problem and all I wish to know is will it be fixed and if it won't then what kind of Monetary (Linden or Otherwise) reimbursement shall we receive... Especially the ppl that own their own SIM... I mean that's $195 a month and a $1000 setup fee so in a year one SIM will net them around $2950 which I understand goes for hosting costs and dwell pay outs and the like but it's like a car payment for something that doesn't actually exist and can be taken away at anytime because of a simple error or a hardware problem from the SIMS being of different hardware... Which is also another problem for the ppl pay the same price but really don't get the same service... Ok I'm done ranting... Let's see if we can come up with a way to fix this...
