I've watched the first half-hour of "Alien Planet" on the Discovery Channel. It started at 8 pm EST, and repeats again at 10 pm EST and 12 am EST.

So far, it's fascinating. So if you want a break from predatory alien life forms who inhabit these forums, check it out. There's a large, lumbering predator described as an "ambusher" that's called an Arrowtongue. That's right, it impales its victims with a long tongue and injects them with poison.

Hmmm.

Wow!

Skewers - fifty foot methane/jet-propelled predator-flyers that hunt in packs
Electric Toadstools - they electrocute wildlife that stray among them
Beach Lances - plants that fling darts with neurotoxins
Grovebacks - enormous turtles, a mile in diameter, that bury into the ground and grow trees on their backs for the sugar

And the Ameobic Sea - an entire ocean enclosed in a biological membrane composed of colony animals.

Will Probe Isaac survive an encounter with the same creatures that destroyed Probe Leonardo? We were out of our chairs standing in the front of the TV for the last fifteen minutes of this show.
