When I surf to secondlife.com, I login, but I just get an informative sort of screen, even if nicely decorated.
How do I actually enter the world?

You need to download the software. Up at the top of the page, the downloads section will get you going. Once you install the program, click the icon on your desktop to launch the program and get in world.

Click the "Downloads" like at the top of the page, download the Second Life installer, then install it. Then you run the Second Life program.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for posting this. I just made a comment about how contentless the SL pages are now, but having an example of it actually affecting customers is going to do wonders.
