Is there a specific place in the forums (other than this) to ask newbie questions? I sometimes ask random people in SL, but usually they don't know the answers. I haven't found the answers in the Basic Help. I haven't tried live chat yet.

It always seems to be night time in my sim. Even at 10 in the morning. I get a little daylight then the sun sets again. How do I fix this?

How do I change photos on my "picks" in my profile? For example, I have my own first land there, but the photo is from before I even bought it - just bare land.

Where do I go to trouble shoot my media player and music? I can't get them to work.

I'm sure I will have more questions in the future. I would like to know the appropriate places to find answers.

You can force the sun to be up all the time witht he debug menu.
To make the debug menu appear, press CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-D on your keyboard. It will appear after the help menu. Then, Debug --> World --> Force Sunset.

Just drag the image (snapshot or texture) from your inventory to the picture.

Live Help would be best here, methinks. Or a specific question in the Technical Issues forum

Design and Textures for all things clothing and texturing, Building for all things related to the torture of prims, scripting tips for all things LSL, Land and Economy for questions about money and land trade, and technical issues for when things seem broken. :)

Live help is full of fabulous and knowlegeable fellow residents - don't be afraid to use it. :)

Also, a shortcut for the moving the sun is Ctrl+Alt+M. This is much more convenient, because you can turn it on and off while in mouselook.
