I'm not calling for a policy change or anything, here. I fully support players being able to create what they want, even if I, personally, don't care for it. And I don't really hold any delusion that this will make a difference. That being said...

What's with the phallic statues, folks? They're not even well done -- a cylinder, a couple of spheres, and a hemisphere do not a penis make. While I was AFK, someone dropped (and then set public, presumably so I wouldn't know who had done it, since I'm sure neighborly considerations were the furthest things from his mind) a standard plywood-textured construct that was named, helpfully, 'penis.' 'Cos otherwise I wouldn't have known.

Haw haw, yes, you too can construct a crude facsimilie of genetalia out of, appropriately enough, primitives. We're so proud. Now let's move on, please?

And while we're on the subject, wandering around nude with a penis attached to your pelvis and leaping around in front of people who're building or chatting about other things is a great way to get yourself ignored. Trouble is, ignoring these types usually gets me griefed sooner or later.

I like having areas on SL where I don't have to worry about censoring myself and can crack the occasional kid-unsafe joke, but there are a few who tend to take that "Mature)" at the bottom of the screen to be their signal to be as crude and tasteless as possible.

Yeah, if you want to be naughty or raunchy, that's all well and good, but just because someone's in a "Mature)" area doesn't mean they feel like playing along right now, and it especially doesn't mean they feel like playing along with *you*. And if they don't feel like playing along with *you*, that's no reason to drop penis statues on their head, come back to bother them and their friends later, leave trash lying around their property, and so on.

So there's my rant on the subject. Have fun, y'all.

That's perfect. Pull it up in Edit mode and check the first tab. No matter if they set the item to Public, or even gave it to a friend who made it public... an item ALWAYS remembers who initially created it! You have your griefer right there!

Arnold Protagonist recently felt the need to come by the cyber city and turn the entire tower into a series of poorly done penises. This had been going on for two days. Bonifacio is a PG sim, and I have screenshots and so on. Arnold ignored repeated warnings to stop. There are at least a dozen people that were there.

Yes, Arnold also took the liberty of putting a giant penis on my roof.

Gail I know exactly who you're talking about. He saw fit to harrass me for about a week or so and I got pictures of him building these on my house. I reported him twice but it seems the abuse reports really don't matter. A few of us had a long talk with a Linden last night who passed out notecards with terms of conduct which clearly states he is in violation along with his midget sidekick but still nothing gets done. My reports went in around a month ago maybe and haven't heard anything on them nor do I expect to. It seems they have the terms but don't really enforce them. Glad it's not just me getting it from these ppl. Maybe something will be done soon!
I don't mind what ppl build on thier own land or do there. Just dont' bring it to my land and expect me to think it's funny. Especially at my shop where I do business.

Ah I thought this Arnold Protagonist was a confused newbie. Washu, Casaval, a few others and myself were hanging out at Cyber City when this jerk showed up and asked something like "how do I play" we were in the middle of figuring out some script bug and ask them to wait half a moment (and thats all the longer it was) when "she" was asked what it was she wanted she ignored so we went back to what we were doing only to suddenly have large objects appearing all over.

The anoyance when on for a while until apparently Arnold Protagonist gave up and then started flying around randomly. Sadly this was JUST after .7 was released so we couldn't 'kill' Arnold and ridd ourselves of the problem for a while. No genitalia appeard but I dont know what time frame this event was to the incidents your speaking of.

This is getting ridiculous...

Right after an event at Stage 4 last night, one McEwen Thompson decided to shed his clothes and attach a prim-made penis to his avatar... Stage 4 is in Ahern, a PG sim.

The sounds of multiple screenshot sounds echoed in the area for abuse reports. I hope something is finally done about this problem.

Now, it is one thing that situations like this happen on Mature sims... but when this behavior happens on a PG sim, this HAS to be dealt with in a prompt manner. It seems like this isn't the case, reading the other posts in this thread.

This has to be handled better real soon, because if it isn't... once this game goes live the "griefers" will wind up winning and the inmates will have run of the asylum.

I have to agree with everyone something has to be done about this problem.. what good does it do me or anyone else who is coming into this game to have a good time and enjoy themselves to come in at all when we spend most of our times these days dealing with these idiots..Lindens you know who they are cause im sure you have dozens of abuse reports on these ppl piling up in your email accounts.. so this stated we get to Billie's piont.. if there are dozens of said reports why are they still here day after day causing trouble??? i know the Lindens are busy ppl they have grids to work on and bugs to fix but these ppl are making our SL experience less than it should be..i live in a Mature Sim...i get the same harrasment.. but just because i live in a Mature Sim doesn't give someone the right to shove me down stairs in my own home because i ask them to put their weapon away.. or the right to come back the next day with a penis on their head and bother me.. and when i tell a Linden about it they should address my issue not tell me its not my job and to file an abuse report which at this piont has done nuthing... LINDENS!!! WAKE UP!!! we have a problem here that you can't ignore anymore... something needs to be done or in the end this game will be run by nuthing but greifers cause they will have more than likely run all the good ppl off because you can only put up with something for long so before you throw your hands up and just walk away

Just a friendly reminder: there is a difference between "adult" or "mature" behavior, and abusive behavior or assault.

Abusive people should - subject to the provisions we agreed to when we joined - be warned, suspended, terminated.

We should not try to follow the same logic the "griefers" follow. There is no need to find some sort of overlap between adult behavior and abuse. They do not overlap.

If abuse is supected, it should be reported. The staff should make a determination. Then, they should act decisively, clearly, and uniformly. (They do NOT have to act publicly, BTW)

If it is not abuse, but simply offensive, startling, or odd, then we must chalk it up to "adult" behavior - if it's IN the Mature Ares, of course.

These "wierdos" that you speak of have got to be underage. I say kick em! I joined this game because it is for an older group of ppl. With that said I know some ppl don't mind the underage ppl running around. I do. I will tell ya from experience they are a big reason The Sims Online went down the tubes as fast as it did. It was very annoying. Same lude immature behavior. Lets just let the Lindens do their job. The rules are in place and I have faith these "kids" will be outta here soon enough.

I don't know who Arnold Protagonist is but I want to say that sometimes I dress like a midget. I hope its not me you are talking about cause I know before I have used mouselook to fly around and hit some of my in-game friends like Chris Omega , Malaer Sunchaser , Roo Jones (he started it) , and Aurelie Starseeker . If I annoyed you in the past I am sorry. I DID NOT EVER DO WHAT ARNOLD DID. I just wanted to apologize for my crazy mauling moods lol. Oh and when I did it, I was just kidding. Its actually quite fun when you are playing a war game thing like on Sia's dock.

I was building and then all of sudden a flew out of the sim from Roo's gun, lol.
He was wearing a tiki mask and I went into mouselook and got him good, lol
