Wish I could block them somehow...
OK, Second Life pet peeve post here. Personally, some things really annoy me, and I wish I could block them....
*The FU words sprawled across 6 or 7 lines of chat text. *the middle finger graphic sprawled across 6 or 7 lines of chat text. *the dancing fools who feel the urge to do their thing directly in front of the scoreboard of (fill in the blank) game. *the tip ball or whatever tip thingy reminders to tip. When they do that, I purposely don't tip. *people who win pots and don't contribute to the next pot. *lots with lotsa lag because they have way too much going on, then blame it on the lot itself rather than admit that they have too many graphics, games, scripts, etc going on at their lot. *players who feel the need to have a discussion with another player that is better left to IM's (sex talk, romance, etc).
OK. That's my list for now. I'm whiskified™ and that's the way it is.

When people play really loud sounds repetitively and inconsiderately. I have hyperacusis and keep volumes low but even so, it hurts a lot.

- Eliteist, pretentious behavior - Vendors who advertise free upgrades via IM and don't respond to upgrade requests - Anybody who sells a no-copy perms vehicle for anything more than $L 1 - People who play the same sound repeatedly - Getting kicked off of public land by a security script while simply passing by - Autogreeters welcoming me to a store I'm nowhere near and have no intention of visiting - Also autogreeters who spam unsolicited notecards

--people who complain at a club with a live dj about the music. If you don't like it play your own in win amp or request something you do like.

This post is for Koshka:
After hours of hard work creating a customised avatar, then suddenly watching in horror as Lag/Glitch Syndrome invokes Default Demo Girl Avatar to invade your body, making you edit feverishly to change it back, only to find five minutes later that you are actually standing naked in a crowd.

My biggest SL peeve is getting a TP offer from someone without first getting an invitation via IM. Maybe I'm just not cottoning to native custom, but this ticks me off to no end.

- Profiles that have things in it like "Till death do us part", "You're my life" in both 2nd life profile and 1st life profile...especially when you can tell it's just superficial puppy love. - Bimbo-looking people. *shuts up before she gets in trouble*

- Cagers - Shovers - People that call me a chicken. - People that wave guns/swords/axes in your face in the WA (or most safe areas for that matter) - Massive particle poofs that trigger every time they cross a sim line (in the WA that can be 5-20 times a minute) - People that call me a chicken. - Giant sized attachments that bury others from view (I don't count myself as I [1] never intentionally bury people, and [2] my avvie isn't really that massive compared to people wearing 10x10x10m cubes, 90m tall 6-prim robots, or 30m cabins or busses on their heads) - People that call me a chicken. - Repetitive sound files everyone seems to play once every 14 seconds: IE Badger Song, Six Flags, Miya, Milkshake, etc. - People that don't understand what it means when you say you want to be left alone, or you are busy. - How the AFK tag pops off if you so much as look at the mouse the wrong way. - People that call me a chicken. - Invisaprims. Why can't we just have alpha capabilities in clothes or skins to make unique avvies easier to make??? - The limitations on things like shoulder/hip width, arm/leg length, etc, which also limit unique avvies. - People that call me a chicken. - Insufficient land tools (Travis Lambert's idea FTW!) - having to put up with ratings instead of 'Comments' which would be cooler. Like a guestbook, yaknoo? - Did I mention people that call me a chicken?

-Self-serving pundits
They know full well who they are and are the first to deny it.
-Know-it-alls
The people who think they have an answer to everything. The difference between them and those that know a lot of things? People who know things don't go out of their way to prove it.
The worst kind of know-it-all is the one who "gets" SL somehow. They constantly try to predict the future of SL and fully believe only they know what is good for it. They will constantly call out other people for various infractions of non-existant cultural rules and boundaries they feel exist. These people can really get on my nerves; especially because they are so quick to shoot down other people's ideas.
-Talentless sycophants
The ones who hang on and spread their cool via association.
-Holier-than-thou-ignoramus'
The first to imply they are smarter, better, more noteworthy etc. You're human -- get over yourself; so are we.
-The word 'metaverse.'
I'm sure many are aware of what I think about Snowcrash. (If you don't, I think it sucked in a very big way).
However, looking beyond that? The etymology of the word suggests a sublime universe that is a transient contextual metaphor or symbol.
It's also completely juvenile and fails to describe SL in a way that is complete... all it does is pump up the cyber-jockey wannabes who dream of being something they're so obviously not.
I think "virtual world" does a better job of describing SL than the geek-centric 'metaverse.'
-People who think what's happening in SL is unique and new.
It's all been done before and hashed out to death. In the 90's.
Law, politics, economics, cultural and social phenomes... etc. Done.

people who cannot end a sentance without saying 'lol' (I know i'm funny but...o.o one lol is enough to last a lifetime) Hoochie tourus hair, Bling bling. those who shoot you then say "whoa, where did that come from?" The lag monsters, the SINGLE, or more person who wears 10 bling rings 8 scripted wristbands on each arm 200 prim hair, 80 prim boots each that have their own bio-mattered bling, utterlessly completely covered in 150 spheres that have a poorly done color changeing/BLING script in them, along with a giant 200 prim coat. I have only rarely seen anyone who merely builds up to it, but it could happen, and last but not least, the Forums, Good day, ^-^
