Hello everyone! Higbee here just to let you all know that the SL Parks and Recreation Svc registries have been updates (The Mainland & Private Islands). For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about (lol): The Registries are listing of places throughout SecondLife that people can enjoy free of charge or close to it;i.e. parks, amusements, etc. The general guidelines are as follows: MUST have a large representation of the natural world, or be a historical landmark NO clubs/dancehalls with minor exceptions NO retail UNLESS a large area is available for gathering without the infringement of the retail estalishment NO private homes UNLESS there is a public gathering area You can check out the early version of the SL Parks and Recreation Service website here: http://www.gabrielguyer.com/slparksandrec/Most importantly though come and check out the Registry Map in Kumori, where you can touch a region and receive a notecard with landmarks to explore. You can also find one of our ***registry kiosks in several places throughout the world. Sadly the number of places that fit the registry have dwindled greatly over the last couple of months, but there's still lots of places to see! If you think you should be on the registry and aren't currently just contact me in-world or send me an email via the website. Someone from the Park Service will be with you within 48 hours. ***We still need your help letting newbies know about these places! We have a very simple 3-prim mushroom kiosk that dispenses notecards containing the registries (no landmarks in these fyi). If you have the psace to place one out to help out just contact me and I'll drop one to you =D

Question: are trailer parks allowed? Ferran Brodsky and Surreal Farber have a really spiffy one in Riiki. It's basically a natural park... with trailers... and trash. Or something. I really enjoyed visiting.

Coolest of cool, Higbee. Must have been a lot of work to compile all that info. I'm always looking for new and clever things but it's tricky to weed out the shops and clubs from the "Find Places" menu. Thanks to you I have an updated guidebook. I appreciate it!

Yeah, I agree, and especially to keep it updated and evolving... good stuff, Higbee. Keep it up.
Is there going to be a way so that locations are hyperlinked to launch Second Life? You know, the whole secondlife://Miru/118/206 thing?

Thanks Higbee! Your hard work is greatly appreciated. When i'm feeling the mall/club/casino blues and needing to be reminded of what SL can be I know where to look to gain inspiration. I head on over to your map in Kumori close my avie eyes and click. I’m never disappointed!
Thanks again.

Higbee, YOU ROCK. Thanks for keeping this going. I'll check it out this evening! I also recommend checking out the trailer park / volcano in Riiki - damn cool, funny, and definitely different from just about anywhere else in SL. Regards, -Flip

hehe yes I have been now and well be adding it with this week's update. Have a couple of others to put on there as well =D Well thank YOU all because you make it worth doing =D In answer to your question Torley, I would love to make the hyperlinks happen. I don't actually know if it can be done by someone outside or not. Or what the process would be, but I will definitely check into it. Our new website is just in its infancy as well. What is there currently is merely temporary until I complete the snazzier layout hehe There will be an interactive map, a place to send us suggestions/recommendations for the registry, free downloads, and more! This should help make it as accessible as it can be Unfortunately the park service doesn't pay the bills, so we'll get to it as soon as we can! Thank you all again for your support! Keep hope alive and plant a tree!

Good stuff!! I'd like to add my place (Eucalyptus Grove) in Gallinas once I get it set up. I'd be happy to host a kiosk too. -Ghoti
