Voting for president began in Florida this morning, and I have already cast my ballot - using a touch screen machine with no issue (though whether my vote is really recorded is anyone's guess). I was surprised by how many people were in line when I got there, though things moved very quickly. There have been reports of some problems (missing ballot pages, downed communication systems, etc..) but nothing major so far. Hopefully many people will take advantage of the next two weeks so that November 2nd can move more smoothly. I am glad I got it over with, since I imagine the 2nd will be chaotic.

Personally, I hope mine is a nice punch card.

Nevada started our early voting this weekend. A really cool thing our touch screen machines do that I guess yours don't is print a record of your vote (that you can look at before hitting the final submit button) so if they had any question about the votes or machine errors, someone could go back and look at the full printout of every vote.

Crossing my fingers. My precinct in Maryland started using Diebold machines back in 2002. I think they got my votes right that time... or did they?

There are allways going to be some kind of problems with voting. Just blame it on Murphy. :)

Pardon my ignorance... but isn't early voting against the Constitution?

It seems the forefathers of our country picked a specific day for a reason, rather than "The month of October".
