In RL, I've been somewhat involved in the fashion industry for a while (was a high fashion model and I've done some amateur fashion photography.) I see many fashion shows listed as events on SL, and some fashion writeups in user-produced newspapers, but haven't seen a fashion photography editorial in SL yet. For those here who don't read Vogue, fashion editorials are highly artistic (often using exotic locations) photography series of outfits, models, accessories, with a consistant theme. A minimal amount of text accompanies them just to inform the reader where they can buy the clothes, as well as photo/makeup/model credits. Most of the time they are not ads, the designers do not pay the magazine to feature their clothes. (For fashion models, the fashion editorial spread is the ultimate job, it gives you beautiful photos for your portfolio.) Is there enough interest in SL for such a thing on here? I don't mean designers/models/etc. (I am fairly sure they'd be interested in participating.) I mean the average SLifer. I was thinking of eventually putting something together, with a theme, locations scouted, clothing from many different designers to showcase a whole bunch of them, etc. Then the images, with credits to the designers, models, locations, etc. would be posted in the gallery, and maybe in an Art Gallery in SL (or whereever people are interested in me putting 'em up, I guess.) Anyways, post feedback, please. If enough people are interested, I'd go ahead with it in a few weeks. Right now my first priority is getting ready to sell my own clothes!

Yup, it is really interesting the fashion editorial work. Finding the most interesting on location places to have fashion editorial work. But also commercial work too can be fun. I know what you are talking about and photography is awsome. I worked for photographers and all that you talking about. Maybe this can be something fun to do as you mentioned since right now I am taking a break from the modeling shows in SL and a break in RL life too as a model and modeling coach. Wow! I sound lazy lol but no, just a bit away now, modeling can be tiring when you do too much of it. You would be someone I would relate with. IM Me in world... You seem you know what you are talking about and that is cool. I have the experience too. Take care... Actually I know some people that we can hook up with... take care Alaska

If you could put together a truly provocative and artistic regular fashion pictorial à la Wallpaper*, I'd pay for it. I'd also like to see something like this for architecture and art as well. (Wallpaper* has a combination of art, architecture, and fashion.) ~Ulrika~

Definitely! I would LOVE to see this containing men's and women's fashion! I have some locations or know of some locations that you might like, and some ideas. I have a culture editorial called Second Style to cover style and lifestyles in Second Life, but it is more article than picture based. But I would love to see you do this!

Would it be worth it? 80% of SL fashion is the same bare midriff bullshit. I mean you can only dress up skanky mallrat attire so much.
I'd be more intersted in an Architecture magazine.

I wasn't thinking of charging for it, heh. What would be very cool is if it were combined with an architecture/furniture design one... I wonder if anyone with a strong interest in architecture would be willing to work on it? If I do go ahead with this idea, though, it won't be for a good couple of weeks, and if it were a regular thing, only once a month or less (I imagine it will take a long time just to outfit/location scout, for one thing)... once September starts I'm in a very intensive graphic design program at school. Palomma I'll IM you next time I see you're on.
