Request 1) Click on this link:

http://www.option42.com/music/orchestra.mp3

And listen to it. Tell me what you think. It's a new song I'm working on, and I want comments :)

Request 2) If you like it, please help me come up with a name for it. The person with the best name for it gets a copy of it in-game, free of charge :)

I like it. Sounds to me like some of the Cirque stuff but with fewer layers. Since I'm influenced, I'd have to suggest "Acrobat". The splash at the end is the finale and the trail afterwards their stage exit. (excuse the made up terms, Im not a musician).

You should have an internet radio station for your stuff, man. If you want some internet radio station hosts, PM or IM me because I know a few good ones.

Anyway, maybe... hmm... well, I'll have to get back to you!

He builds incredible builds, he makes beautiful music...

I'd like to host an event where people bid on a date with you, Lordfly! I'd split it with ya and we'd be damn rich!

...I mean... profiting off of another's talents is wrong..

[Edit: Changed "date for you" to "date with you"]

Too bad my dating skills are, on a Dungeons and Dragons scale, "-20, with a 20-sided roll penalty for each asked date/rejection" :P

I like it, excellent work :)

I'd say maybe call it "Chase" or something dramatic, sounds dramatic/intense kinda.

I would like to hear a song done completely with SL sound fx, think it would be interisting.

As a disclaimer, I have to say that it's not really my kind of music. This kind of thing always sounds 'unfocused' to me, as though something more tuneful should go on top. But that's just me; it's not a criticism. Having said all that I found it a pleasant example of its kind. I particularly liked the pianos playing seconds, and later the solo violin entry in the middle of a tutti.

So far as titles go I have no idea. Something astronomical? Ares Vallis? (The first Mars landing site). Aurora? The Cat's Eye? Carina? Tethys? Mir Farewell? Burble burble burble.

WOW!

LF, that was fantastic!

Here are a couple of title suggestions based on my thoughts as I listened:

Night Drive - It's something I'd enjoy listening to drving along a highway in the middle of the night on one of my road trips.

Pulse - For the beat and the way I could feel it pulsing through me as I listened.

More please! When you make the cd can I buy a copy?

I tried to listen to your song, but can't seem to get it to work. Is it no longer available?

Oh finally got it to listen to. Very beautiful.

Have to agree with Oz, the music sounds intense.

Maybe "Dance of the Soul?" :)

Again, Lordfly, it is very beautiful, whatever you decide to name your work.

I've got a cd of my older stuff at
http://cart.mixonic.com/servlet/com.mixonic.sell.servlet.ArtistViewLibrary?url_key=option42&cookieTest=true

I've actually only had one person buy it before, my friend, so I can't say with certainty how reliable the company is. They seem alright though :)

It's only 7 bucks, so maybe worth a shot :P

My new cd will be out when I can fill it with 80 minutes of material.

The fact that you refer to your dating skills with a D&D metaphor speaks volumes. ;)

lol

Well, for some reason there's mostly two kinds of guys out there.

1) The asshole - generally abusive and self-interested, "tough guy", listens to bad music, can't respect women (other people, or even themselves in a sense), but provide a (false?) sense of protection to women--who are for some reason immensely popular.

2) The geek - D&D players, computer guys, trustworthy, respectful to people for the most part, most probably indecisive, rarely athletic, often annoying, usually dorky, and generally uncool--who are in slight demand, but are definitely the less popular choice by far.

So there's the choices.

There's a few anomolies out there where someone may have the positive qualities of both types without many of the downsides, but HAHAHAHA that's like hitting the lottery. :D Get real!

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

AMAZING Lordfly!

I love music, but am horrid at being a musician :D

Name suggestions:

Decention/Decending Into Hell (The tubular bells... its the tubular bells ;) )
Rain Over the Opera House
Raindrop Rhapsody (The piano in this piece... oddly reminds me of rain.)
The Birth of a Raindrop
Storm Birth

I like the last one the best :D
Imagine the piano as single drops of rain, the bass thunder, the drum ligntening, and the scratchy thing the sound of rain hitting pavement.

I make music... that doesn't mean I'm a musician by any means.

I'm not trained in any instrument (aside from the software synths I use), I have no musical training (I can't even read proper notation without much difficulty), and some things confuse the heck out of me (chords, for instance :P)

So there.

:P
