That's the most nerve-wracking thing I've seen since Doom.

But I don't get out much :p

Really great work on the environments, and fantastic camera work, some of the best I've seen. The particle effects for the dust and grit in the air were quite good, giving it a real feeling of depth. I thought the character modeling and some of the animation were comparatively weak though. The main character's face didn't really jive with his body. It felt to me like the head was just stuck on, kind of the way a kid might pull the head off an action figure and then force fit it onto the body of another. The character is described as an "old man, exhasted from battle" in the narrative, but it was pretty obvious that whoever had acted out the motion capture was a young man, full of energy. And the hand animation (which admittedly is really hard to do well) was just all kinds of wrong. Also the texturing on the big war machine walker thingies and on the little robot guy looked unfinished to me, definitely way too bland and out of place next to everything else. I give it an 8 out of 10.

LOLEX!

To be fair though, this is Solid Snake. He's like, superhuman!

Anyone not familiar with the background will get smiles outta:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid_Snake

And note the first paragraph:

From: someone
Solid Snake is the main protagonist in the Metal Gear video game series. He is known as "the man who makes the impossible possible" and is a mystery and myth to much of the world. He is a highly trained, elite soldier with a personal preference for parachuting, husky racing, SCUBA diving, free climbing, rappelling, small and medium range handguns (though EXTREMELY well-versed in all types of munitions), various hand-to-hand combat techniques, and smoking.

Gee whiz.
