I'm not knocking MJW for wanting to lobby for things, I'm just concerned about having another XXXXXXX Bush Administration on our hands. So, In an effort to keep things clean and tidy, I submit the creation of a new group that, with enough positive response, I will start when I get back in-world tonight
We will lobby for things to make more sense in SL. Being of a majority of SL's paying members (ie not land barons, but simply land owners, basic members need not apply), we will make organized proposals and petitions to SL, who up to this point have given us.... one (1) pony.
And no, we won't be asking for Ponies. We will be asking for a few sensible features, like a developement roadmap, so we can know what to expect. I joined SL expecting a badass new Physics Engine so I could develop the next killer app. I was hoping for HTML support so I could maybe put some more usable information in-world to attract more people.
/me wants a giant wall of blog entries.
We will all get - Supervillain Costumes & Titles - Access to League website special areas (if this pans out) - Cool Supervillain Toys to combat the raising MJW threat to our very way of Second Life! - Cool Rocket Bikes! (Who needs ponies!)
Post your thoughts, ideas here, please.

I'm saying it might turn out like the PRESENT adminstration. Which is running the goverment, and shamelessy milking the people and feeding corporations, while dragging the people deep into a hole we will spend a long time digging ourselves out of.

The present administration, as has evolved since inauguration, is not indicative of the Republican party. Good Day.

Are you for real? These things here would make many of the other issues go away. A new physics engine would make the demand for L$ go through the roof. Think of all the neat things that can be done with a system that can allow you to trave sim to sim withough getting lost. Having a car that can take you and all your buddies (or newbies) on a tour. What about having a bike that you can do tricks with? Think about all the airplanes, and hover items that could be used. The value of all the land with roads will also go up. I am sure there many more things I haven't even thought of. I know it is "coming" but I want it to be here now! Think of it, if the way sims run is better, and then the system req's can be lowered! Greater draw distances, more prims, better world... Think of all the people that don't come here because of games like There that have buggies, hoverboards, paintguns, and the like. I know I still use There for that reason alone. I love to just cruise.

I know I still use There for that reason alone. I love to just cruise. Exactly. I just want a status update, SOMETHING. Not a "oh, that little thing? we pushed it back for an upcoming release". I've been patient, quiet for almost a year. I'm not the kind of person to instantly start b*tching at someone over an issue while there are a thousand people foaming at the mouth about it, but I am the type to poke at people's initiatives and try to figure out the entire purpose of what they're doing. The MJW, to some people, sounds like a power grab from the biggest players. Some see it as what Anshe & Crew say it is, a lobbying group for everyone's interests. I see it as a little of both. Besides, with an 'anti-', we can make a little more headway at getting answers.

My current stance.
I am against any organized group in Second Life whos main goal is to lobby the Lindens with personal Interest. I know it is inevitable, but I am for improvements for town hall type meetings for everyone to speak thier mind.
Yes, even the basic accounts. It's not thier fault LL offers the account status's they do.

Yes, even the basic accounts. It's not thier fault LL offers the account status's they do. It is not a bad thing, per se. I think that 100 groups all with orginized thoughts could have more of an inpact then 10000 players with 100 ideas, said in 100 diffent ways each. It make it easier for the Lindens to get a feel for what the people think. They can say, will this group of land barons whats this, these basic users want this, this groups of random people want this, lots of people want this.... Insted of he wants this, she wants that, she wants this and that.....

We need a couple of 'interest groups' to organize what we want, etc.

And even if we don't get a damn thing done, it would still be fun to parade around in supervillain costumes. Maybe bring giant death rays to town meetings with really simple, clearly written ultimatums.

About those supervillian uniforms. Are they cheap polyester, or a higher grade natural fabric? Standing around, waiting to get knocked out (so the hero can steal our uniforms) is a bitch in tropical heat whle wearing polyester.

Yeah, the present administration isn't really even conservative. What's conservative about starting wars with not exit strategy, wasting billions of dollars, taking the biggest surplus ever and turning it into the biggest deficit... They're not conservatives, they're religious NUT JOBS. They're morally conservative and insane, stupid, and unrealistic in every other way. I'm a liberal, but I wouldn't insult true conservatives with well-thought out decision making skills by calling the current administration conservative. -Flip
