I keep getting told how good things are in SL, I'd like to get an idea just how satisfied people really are...

SL customer support has always been good for me.

Fine - but I don't recall ever sending them an autoresponder message!

I've gotten responses to emails in a reasonable interval (4 - 24 hours urgency appropriate), and when necessary for clarification to my not so technical mind, very nicely/quickly as well.

Doc, I'm beginning to get the impression you're not happy with SL. ;)

Understatement of the year? Doc, if a game is giving you this much problem.. maybe it's time to take a break? A nice long one? I've had to do it a time or two myself, just not with SL, yet.

But as for the poll question: I've never had a problem with Tech Support or any of their support branches. They are usually pretty good about answering almost any stupid question I have, and in one case, helped me sort one problem out that was purely on my end!

We used to have these sorts of people when I worked in retail. Customers who were so deeply angry for reasons I could never fully understand, who took out their wrath on everyone in the store. Some of the younger girls at customer service always got it the hardest. These were tough cookies, too, but occasionally we got that really special customer who was able to reduce them to sobbing, infuriated piles of broken humanity.

I don't envy Linden's support people.

This is good advice.

Also, because Doc's ravings always seem to center upon some inscrutible lag that Linden Lab is somehow supposed to resolve via exhaustive software patching, perhaps in the time off she can do a little network optimization or replace the router that is so troubling her Second Life.

Just a thought.

I voted that problem dealt with to my satisfaction because most of them had. Although, I think I've experienced few of the options given.

Yesterday, my entire inventory went poof. 18 months worth of stuff. I IM'd Live Help, and there was a Linden present. I was instructed to instant message a specific Linden. I did.

Then I went out for drinks with friends for a birthday.

When I got home two hours later, my entire inventory was back. That's pretty damn good, in my books. I know inventory hasn't always been recovered, so I was worried... perhaps they're improving in this sector too?

They never seem to read the entire email and they respond slowly, very slowly. However, they did eventually solve part of the problem and for that I'm happy.
