Does anyone else find that it is becoming an increasingly hostile place for vendors who do not own their own land?
I am finding that every mall I decide to put a vendor in changes hands every month, causing me to join yet another group (can't SOMEBODY figure out a way to make a mall that doesn't NEED to use a group?? I only have 15, for gosh sakes! Just about every single social group I had to drop out of, just to put a vendor in another mall! It's ridiculous!) then move my vendor yet again.
And if I happen to be gone for a few days when the mall changes hands, I find all my equipment back in my inventory.
This is not to mention the stupid clubs that set up this cool mall, charge an arm and a leg to rent there, yet, every time they hold a big event at their club, they shut down all the scripts so they can run their stupid laser light show and particle clouds. In other words, when they finally draw potential buyers to the mall....they shut down the mall! None of the vendors work!
It's getting so a landless vendor can't make a Linden anymore.

I don't find this because I rent out malls lol.
I have been in the same place since December and don't plan to move. I have a group just because it was only in the last patch that they made it possible to individually count prims. So now you don't need groups for that purpose, but mall owners evidently like them to spam with ads for new space etc. I try to keep my spam announcements to a minimum.
What I find is that there is a bit of a vicious circle, that vendors won't come to malls with better services, faster customer care, no switcheroos, no groups, better terms, because they say the traffic is all at the big telehub mall baron malls. But...traffic is what YOU make if you have a good product, not only what I make -- though I try to make it too with classes, discussion events, dances, etc.
So IM me in the game if you are serious about needing space with someone who isn't going to change or dump you out.

I dabbled in malls, but tried to stick to the ones owned by longtime landowners. Even so, I found that I made far less from rented spots than I did from the web-based shops like SL Exchange and Second Server. Malls cost money, are sometimes unstable in their ownership, and may not get as much traffic as the web shops.
