Water World! All we need now is Kevin Costner and a raft.

And those sims exist! I see them all the time but can't get to them.
Haha.

personnally, i want them to rotate a sim 90 about either the x or y axis. then we would have a 256x256 shotgun barrel of sim to play in. hmm this reminds me of another book... something about them flying along a singularity all the way into the future... infinite length, finite crossection... damn, i have no idea about this one though.

Ooh just once we have to try this! Even if it's done as a build... imagine flying up, up, up, and all of a sudden the ground is above your head!

No, no, LSD's too much trouble for that. Just go single-tracking for that experience ;).

THIS is LSD:

The young man sat down at the booth in Denny's and ordered a hamburger, carefully propping himself against the table and holding onto the condiments so they wouldn't fall onto the ceiling.

When the hamburger arrived, he looked down at the hamburger and the hamburger looked back up at him with sad eyes. "Don't eat me!", the burger cried. "Please don't eat me!"

Smiling, the man patted it on the head, carefully wrapped it up in a nice warm napkin, and took it home to meet his girlfriend.

Hmm... hamburgers really shouldnt do acid.

Nada - I think the book you're on about is 'Eon' by Greg Bear. Damn good read.
