Why haven't we seen anything even commented or at least shot down by the Lindens. So far the only completed proposal I've seen is a freaking PONY. A PONY!!!! Granted, Ponies are cool, but this matter is bigger than Ponies.
Why have at least not seen a little more feedback? Does LL need a dedicated Forum/Votes monkey?

I don't know, they've accepted a lot of proposals. One completed, three completed but not actually indicated as such, and five under development. I agree that they need to clean this up a bit, particularly when it comes to the policy recommendations like "Make all sims mature" or "Bring back event support for events other than education". Things that they've said they'll never, ever do, and things that common sense dictates just won't happen probably should be responded to. That said, I think they've listened so far. One likely reason we haven't seen updates for a while may be that 1.7 feature lock has set in, and everyone who would ordinarily be saying yes or no is busy finishing up the features they've approved. Personally, I think the greatest flaw in the voting system is that it doesn't adequately convey any sort of preference among the overall population. One user's most wanted feature could be another's most hated. Some kind of ranking system seems like it could alleviate that. As an added bonus, with more relevant data, it would invite greater scrutiny and maintainance on the part of the Lindens.

You're probably right. But lately it seems like LL has just been waxing the pony too much and not feeding the residents.

From: Burke Prefect You're probably right. But lately it seems like LL has just been waxing the pony too much and not feeding the residents. I have to admit that I have been surprised with how little feedback/movement has actually happened with the feature voting, given how much fanfare it was introduced with. While the pony is amusing, the fact that almost nothing on the list has really gone anywhere (other then Havok, which we started out knowing about anyway, since it has been coming since 1.4 ) has made me stop even looking at it or voting. Some of the proposals are excellent, but it seems an excercise in futility right now. Kind of like the feature suggestions forum - same black hole, but with voting!

Some of the proposals are excellent, but it seems an excercise in futility right now. Kind of like the feature suggestions forum - same black hole, but with voting! Well, in the pony's defense, (Hmm, I never thought I'd say that.) I think the fact that it was done by the content team, not the engineering team was what led to it actually getting a "Completed". Not just because it was actually finished --113, 74 and 51 were as well-- but because it was a different person that selected the flags on its proposal. Havok 2, Inventory multi-select and the Linux client have been approved, but the only way to clear their votes is to also mark them "Abandoned". "Each propositon needs its own URL", "Prioritize bugfixing" and "bring back arrows" have all been completed, but are marked as abandoned as well. Paypal and HTML in SL haven't been completed yet, but they're also marked as abandoned. I think this demonstrates that there are several Lindens checking these off, and that they're basically just doing what makes the most sense to them at the time. After 1.7, I expect we'll see some changes to the voting system, at least in terms of Linden involvement. However, that doesn't excuse the fact that the first propositions are and will always be the most popular, at least going by votes. Until there's some sort of ranking system, I don't see it working as the Lindens hoped. As it is, the most useful data we can infer from the voting system is the votes:voters ratio. Still, that doesn't help factor in negative opinions or voters who don't actually care.
