A couple of questions regarding the Premium account before I sign up 1) Can I revert back to a basic account at any time? My RL funds might not keep me going in SL (I've had a bad run of dishwashers, laptops, fridges going up in smoke over the last few months ), so although I may want to stick around in the game I might not be able to. 2) If I do/can revert back to basic account, would I be able to keep any land I've purchased on the? Sorry if these have been asked already, but I tried the search and it kicked up hundreds of posts which seemed to have almost no relevence

You actually lose the land you hold if you drop down to basic (and you *can* drop down to basic). The best thing to do would be to sell the land before you move to basic so you have a bunch of money to play with. The basic account only gives you L$50 a week.

If you have a very charitable (and trustworthy) friend they might take over the land while you get your finances settled? You'd still have to pay back the land tier payments, but at least you cut out the base 10 a month?
Or am I thinking about this the wrong way and is this suggestion not so smart? <_<

To hold more than the 512 they allot you for a premium account you must pay more monthly. I think you get another 1024 for $5. Ofcourse you still have to buy the land

For $10 you get the premium account with 512m of land you are allowed to own, you still have to buy the land. For $5 more you can hold another 512m. For $8 more than the first $10 you can hold an extra 1024 for a total of 1536m. Hope that was clear..

Since your finances are looking good right now, you should consider paying upfront for an annual premium membership which breaks down to $6 per month. This method will provide you with a higher weekly stipend (currently $500 vs $50 basic weekly stirpend) and 512 sm of land which you can buy for $1 per sm if it is a designated First Land parcel. Any amount of land over that size will incur additional monthly tier payments.
