Teal Lanes has suffered a major incident, AGAIN.

Today Darwin Appleby logged in to find Teal Lanes completely derezzed, save a few basic pieces.

Im in complete shock, I am the official scripter of the lanes, and had to deal with this happening TWICE. The first time, someone srolled up and derezzed the experimental bowling lane I was working on... I was able to rebuild, because luckily I had made backups of every script.

THIS TIME, someone has derezzed the entire build. My lane suffered greatly once again as well. It looks like a bomb went off in the build, most of it has completely disintegrated, save a few pieces.

The build was quite massive, not very tall, but was nearly complete, textured and all. (Damn rhimes)

Jeez... I didnt think people could be this inconsiderate.

 :( :( :(

If anyone has any information about the incident, please contact me, James or Darwin.

How can anyone just derez your stuff like that? Time to revoke permissions on your calling cards, mate.
And dont leave group perms on.

 I know you guys gave some perms out to people, including me. Check all who you have given them out too. I know how it feels to lose a whole building, that happened to us while making our school. There are also some others with missings and stuff, check to see if there was another SL problem. and check to see if you got your money back, we didn't when our school disappeared.

I have taken away all perms from people, however, I really think its a bug at this point.

I know people in Jesse have noticed, but half of the Jesse Wall disappeared about a week ago. It must be a related bug.

I saw major parts of a building in Kissling missing a couple days ago, everything was a total mess. I couldn't figure out why it would be that way, I logged out, back in, still the same way. But then about 24 hours later I went back to the same area and it was back to normal.

the Jessie Wall has been dematerializing for a long time now... months... not sure the reason for it but it was mentioned in Hamlets series on the Jessie Wall.

I've had minor bits of the disco disappear once in a while. I just assumed someone had deleted them and so revoked permissions on all my calling cards.
But come to think of it, parts of the old disco were gone when I took over it, and the little help mushroom was over another persons plot.

It would be great to figure out whether this is a big or an unfortunate case of mis-used permissions.

Can someone post:

Who is the owner of the prims that dissappeared? When exactly did you first see them gone? How long had they been there? We can go through logs and try and reconstruct what happened.

Objects dissappearing (when permission to delete is not given) is incredibly important to us to track down - we are not aware of any open bugs that could cause such a thing - so please tell us any time that you have a case where you believe this has actually happened.

I, James Miller, was the owner of the prims that were gone. Chris Omega also may have owned some of the prims, as did Darwin Appleby. I first noticed they were gone at about 3pm EST on Saturday, when I logged in and Darwin had left me a message, asking what had happened to the bowling alley. I went over, and I found what is currently there, remnants of what was the bowling alley. Chris Omega, Darwin Appleby, and Hikaru had permissions to edit my objects, however, I trust them all, and I honestly don't believe they deleted the building. I honestly don't think ANYONE deleted it, because, they left parts! It realy looks to me like a bug did it. Lindens, please check your logs, and find out what really happened. Thanks.

Is it possible that these are items that somehow went public and were deleted by passersby? I am constantly pointing out decaying objects on builds to people, and in some cases those builds have been there fo a long time.

On Friday I created an object, one prim with a texture on it.
On Saturday it had gone, the people with me couldn't see it either, so not lag on my part.
On Monday morning (now) it is back again...

I don't know if this is related, but Jake Cellardoor pointed out to me last week that a part of my house had detatched itself and was flaoting at an altitude of around 350 meters in the air. Absolutely no idea how that happened, or how long ago, as I'm always tweaking my house.

Might be worth checking the sky above your plots guys, just in case - although you'd soon notice the extra tax if this is what happened.

The other day in a building class I had been linking and unlinking my construction as I worked on it. I would add more pieces, then link or unlink sections to re-group the prims in a logical way. But when I was all done and I tried to link the whole unit (a bay window) into once piece, a warning dialog popped up saying that I didn't have ownership of all the selected objects, and therefore couldn't link them.

I moved the group around and reselected it in several locations and angles -- Always using the drag-select, since there were lot of small prims in there. I even lifted the whole group in the air, put the camera directly below it, and drag selected from there to be SURE I wasn't grabbing someone else's object in the distance. (Though the control node was centered in my object, so I sort of doubted that.)

Giving up, I started to click-select the prims one at a time, linking every few prims. It wasn't until I tried to link in one of the vertical struts that I got the error again. The strut had become PUBLIC.

Now I know that I didn't choose to make it public. Since I had shift-drag-copied it from the other strut and positioned it, I hadn't touched it except to link it (and un-link it) with the others.

There was some talk about an invisible object flying about and somehow messing with people's stuff, but I think that was an unrelated problem myself.

I bug-reported the occurrence.

I also notice some strange stuff, but in Minna. It may not be related, but chunks of my tower disappeared completely. I could fly right through the spot where it was supposed to be.

But approaching the same location from the opposite direction, the objects were there and "solid". Checking again from teh first direction, they were missing, and I could move through the spot.

The problem has fixed itself, so I assumed it was just packet loss or something on my end.

But *maybe* these missing objects are only missing from certain angles :)

Wow I'm amazed at these stories! I've never heard of this problem but now I'm terrified that my stuff is going to poof. I'm really interested in what the Lindens think. If anyone sees things like the last 4 accounts discribe, you should probably call a Linden right away :p

Is it a coincidence that these accounts arose after LL started to copy items over to the 1.1 beta servers? :p

Agree, Dev. One big help would be to see other people's property lines. If building on land owned by someone else (with permission of course), you don't get to see the prop lines. Use of land stakes on the corners during construction can be helpful.

The best known example is the 'little cabin' where the parent prim is on the very backside. Too many times this part was place just outside the owner's land, and the whole thing goes public in no time.

Harald, you CAN see the property lines if you turn them on,and the owners of the land too. Or are you referring to something different?

I think he means that, while you can see YOUR land's boundaries, and see the edges of public land, you can't tell one person's plot from another's without hovering the mouse over each block. I, too, would like to be able to see ALL property lines.
