Happy Earth Day everyone. Go out and plant a tree... or volunteer with one of the many cleanup organizations doing something today... or even just walk to the store instead of driving there. Every little bit helps... and if you find you enjoyed it, do it every month or every week or even every day if you like.   |

Earthday here:
1000 people gathered in the park...with 100 vender booths, trampling anything in their path.
Beer and soft drinks are served out of papercups...and there is a whopping 3 trash cans.
4 porta-johns...so most people are just making their way into the wood to "leave some for nature"
5 local garage bands are jamming onstage...super loud....super obnoxious.
Every hiding spot in the park has three hippies smoking bluntz...
The parking lot is full, mostly with crappy 2-mile-to the gallon POS's...(I spied 4 VW vans, circa 1970).
Some chick starts giving me the unwarrented riot act about animal cruelty...then hands me some literature featuring mistreatment at chicken farms, I asked her if her Birkenstocks were humanely harvested from Tofu...she called me an ass.
The city event organizers are now planning to take out a few of the trees near the parking lot to allow for more camping spaces next year...
