When I read the Police Blotter I often wonder which scum perpetrated the crime and would love to see their Second Life names included. In the US of A when you are convicted of a crime it becomes public information and why not in Second Life?

You don't have a right to face your accuser, Citizen. Now pick up that can.

I guess I should elaborate.
Second Life is like being at someone's private residence. You play by the home owner's rules. If not, the home owner can choose to warn you or remove you from his/her house temporarily or permanently. Should an actual law be broken, the RL police are still called and they handle it. _____________________

They've started doing that here for children and I utterly hate it. It's just totally primitive.
To introduce it here - with no right of representation, and no right of appeal would just be unspeakable. _____________________

We do have a right to appeal, though, but honestly I have no information either way on whether this is a successful avenue. _____________________

Susie,
At least take comfort in the fact that with the screwed up disciplinary policies where you don't know who accused you, and often you don't even know exactly what you are accused of, the person they are referring to in the blotter doesn't know it is referring to them either. _____________________

Yeah, I just received a notice that I was in violation of the TOS for using scripted weapons.
The other day, I made the mistake of filing an AR against a griefer with guns, and then the griefer with guns filed a phoney AR against me. The difference is that their were 5 other people and a Linden present at the time. I told the Linden about the notice I got, and she said that I should mention her name in an email to abuse so that they would contact her for corroboration (seeing as she was there at the time of the incident, and could confirm that I didn't play bang bang shoot shoot). However I found it way fucking insulting to get an email that explicitly stated that LL realized I had used scripted weapons after a "careful review of server logs". It's like getting a canned email entitled "hey douchebag". I am beginning to think that server logs are compulsive liars! ![]() _____________________
