so i sit through this town hall meeting to find out all the important developments coming down the pike and philip spends over half of it talking about avatar animations.

pfft! who gives a rat's ass? i know; everybody but me. whatever. this is a rant thread and i can say what i think right? it made me physically ill to see important development questions about sound streaming and xml/rpc being breezed over after so much time was spent talking about frelling custom animations. wooooo can't wait for that let me tell you how exciting ooooooooooo.

i'm not doggin philip here. he was simply catering to the masses and that's entirely understadable. #1 priority is to grow the sl landmass and residents. how best to do that drives their strategy. i know i'm the odd man out. so i'll shut up now. just needed to rant a bit. thanks for listening.

reading through the posted transcript, i see that several types of questions were asked and answered during the first half of the meeting. i just didn't see them. a few of the detached answers floated by, but i never knew what was being talked about. all i saw was animation this and animation that.

so most of that time wasn't actually wasted talking about silly animations. it just seemed that way to me. well that's still what a rant forum is for.

i should've titled the thread "can't wait for the inworld convention!" ha ha ha

Just finished reading the log (at work) - and although I find the prospect of the animations quite cool (and nice that it was clarified that custom anims != Av to Av animation -- I can stop explaining that now) - I didn't read anything about changes to the permission system (though I know a question was asked twice), and the other big forum discussion re: TOS violations and information on offences went unasked.

Siggy.

Sorry I missed it, Khamon.

(Well, not really, but I can at least act like it.)

Those topics look pretty interesting.

(I guess I shouldn't just search the log for XML, but whatever.)

Some very exciting things are going on!

(Where'd I put my ASP.NET book?)
