does anyone think it might be good to delete those old threads like "sexy avi pic" and "movie title match thread"???
People keep posting on them but its more trouble than its worth to wade through it all looking for the (usually) three word addition at the end.
Is there any way to kep them, but get rid of all the old entries?

Careful. A call for the deletion of "War in Jessie: Is it Upon Us??" will not go over well. That thread has been around since I started over a year ago. I decided to post in it when i turned 1 yr old

The no kids in SL thread needs to die a painful death though, because the issue is settled and the thread still pops up at least once every couple of weeks.

From: Ingrid Ingersoll You have to be kidding! It's a classic!!! Well I am damning it, without actually reading it. So I *must* be right. From: Ingrid Ingersoll I think it's a good look for me. Well girls with moustaches can be cute (Aimees *excluded* ), but I found the "before" avatar pic did a lot more for me than this one.

I love old threads. I would hate for them to be deleted. So very much of the history of SL is found on these forums. I constantly search for related threads when a new person asks a question. I also encourage friends to read by through the archives to get a feel for the community and how it has evolved over the years. And since no one person can really decide what is or is not a valuable thread, I say DO NOT DELETE THEM! Archive some if you *must*, but deletion is like destroying our history.

From: Pendari Lorentz ... And since no one person can really decide what is or is not a valuable thread, I say DO NOT DELETE THEM! Archive some if you *must*, but deletion is like destroying our history. Even "Post Da Sexie Avi" is "History"? (joke) I was actually thinking that it would be nice to post on the sexy avi thread or see what people post, but it's so long its just impossible to read. It's kind of "broken" in that way. Same as the "post your RL pic" kind of threads. They need to be started fresh every once in a while maybe? Just a thought anyway...

It's all history, regardless. It's easier to leave it and archive it than it is decide where to draw the line on what do delete and what to retain.

User CP, Edit Options

Perhaps setting the User CP, Edit Options would help.
You can set the Thread Display Mode to Newest First, and set the Default Thread Age Cut Off to not show old threads.
Using the New Posts link can also help keep one from wading through old posts.

I need my periodic "what about the poor people with no talent" fix. I may even want to bump it again. Please don't take that away from me!

in each forum page there is a small [v] in front of the title of each thread. if you click that it will bring you to the first new post that has not been viewed by you. and this is not meaning to be rude, but if it is too much of a problem to read new posts on a long thread, then don't that's what I do on any forums I am a regular member of... if a thread gets too long (and usually too far off topic) for me, I just don't open that thread... I'm fully against deleting any threads that are not in violation of forum rules or TOS or whatnot
