PG Life , an idea

All right .. there have been several posts in the last month on divergent topics that all are actually related in a certain way I think.

First, There are a lot of people for and against Teen SL .. one of the agruements of the opponents if they should not automatically graduate into the Current Adult grid on their 18th birthday becuase of the X rated matarial.

Second, There are many who are against the Lag creating/sexual content themed clubs.

Third, Quite a few are against Sex in SL anyway, for whatever reason. Many to the point they want to impose their veiws on others.

Fourth, there are people who wish they could be in Teen Second life becuase of the restrictions on sexual content.

WELL .. is it an entirely unrealistic idea to add another Grid seperate from The Main Grid the Teen Grid and the Test Grid ?..

Just make it the PG Grid ....


Many Massive Online games maintain a much larger number of servers then Second Life .. so I suppose its feasible from a technical standpoint.


Maybe though, it will lack interest?



If thats the case .. what does that say about the VERY vocal opponents of sexual themed content? Would it mean their feelings are an extreme minority?

I say we just shoot them.

I'm all for shiiping the very vocal opponents of free choice and personal rights off to some far away server

hmmm PG Life wouldnt have violence either .. so i dont suppose you could shoot them, Chip.

It would be nice if some posters in the forums would tone down the "hochie, slut, pervert, loser" type comments.

Personally I appreaciate very much the freedom in Second Life, and wouldnt want to tell other people how to live it.

Well shooting them would be in lieu of creating a PG grid in the first place

I've been in SL for almost a year and a half. I own land in a mature sim, but I do not use it for the purpose of porn.


NEVER in all my time in SL, and I have spent LOTS of time here, has porn come to me. I never stumbled on it by mistake and never had it shoved in face. The only time I've seen porn in SL is when I have been looking for it.

This is a non-issue being blown up more than it should be. It is my belief that if people are finding too much porn, it's because they are going out to look for it.

I hate the idea of a third grid. Talk about killing the economy.

I dont think it would effect the econmy much, becuase I dont think very many people would leave the current Main Grid.

But would allow the totally outraged to vote with their feet, so to speak. =PpPp

Yes its probably a bad idea , but not as bad an idea as banning a lot of the content and activities people enjoy in Second Life. Now that would really ruin the economy.

From what I understand, Mature land sells better than PG land in SL, which makes me think that an entire PG grid would not be popular enough to sustain itself. I personally would not own anything but Mature land, for freedom of speech reasons.

Some griefers have used porn to disrupt PG events, but they could do that in any grid.

I don't care for the sexy or violent stuff, but it doesn't bother me to live and let live. Some folks would like to outlaw churches, too.

The fewer rules, the better.
