Technical Problems - and I can't access the Knowledge Base

Hi all...

I've been having crash issues when I try to play SL. I'd really like to look through the Knowledge Base... but I can't. So I guess I have 2 problems - accessing the KB and my probelm within the game. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When I try to access the Knowledge Base, (I try to log in to it) it says that it can't find my user name. (I've tried entering my username to have them send me a password - and it still can't find me!) I have no problems getting access to the game (logging in) or posting here - so I'm not sure what's going on.

I'm running SL on a p4 2.5 ghz with 2 512k chips of memory. I have a sound blaster sound card and a radeon 9500 pro video card, so my system is well within SL specs. But for some reason when I log in after a few minutes (sometime 5, sometime 20) my character will freeze. My mouse pointer is not frozen (I can move it around the screen) but I can't access any menu's and my character will not move.

I have literally the exact same system as you minus the sound card(on board card). I also freeze up after a few minutes and have to restart my computer. I'm not sure if it is the Radeon 9500 pro that is making me freeze up. I am going to try the catalyst 3.1 drivers today to see if that helps, and if it doesn't then I don't know what to do next.

I'm going to try this in the Technical Issues forum... still can't get into Service & Support area - but I feel kind of silly for posting this in General now :)

I had severe crashing problems when I first started playing. The only thing that seemed to help was getting the Catalyst 3.1 drivers for my Radeon 8500. The 3.2 drivers buggered everything up and everything below that was even worse. You'll also have problems if your motherboard's AGP drivers aren't installed correctly. Anyway, I hope that helps.

I've got the latest catalst drivers installed (the 3.1 versions). I have directx 9.0a (which supposedly fixes issues with win xp). The sound card drivers... well it's a dell, so it's the SB Live! basic card, and I've checked with Dell - I have the latest version of those as well.

I'm not sure how/where to check the motherboard drivers... anyone with additional info there?
