Looks like a very pricy solution for home use. Building it yourself is probably more reasonable. _____________________

Yeah, I saw that, couldn't even find a price.
Usually when there's no price, if you have to ask.... Build one? How the heck would you do that? If I'm gonna go through all that trouble of design and stuff, I'd be setting up to market and sell them to home users! hehe_____________________

When I worked at the uni I had a dvd stacker which let you mount whichever dvd you wanted to use. I think it had a capacity of about 10 dvds.
There was a really good idea I saw which held all your dvds & cds. Even tho it was connected to the PC and stored all the tracks and information in a database, it didnt actually READ the DVDs. You would pick your dvd from the catalogue and it'd spit the dvd out for you to manually put into your PC. Whats the bloody point? _____________________

Hmm...yeah. The idea for me is that, since my wires aren't long enough and I don't really want this huge box sticking out from my desk, I can't easily even get to the cd tray. Not to mention the fact that it's a pain in the rear finding CDs and stuff. A jukebox system with about 100 slots would be awesome... well, assuming copy-protected software doesn't bitch and moan because it's not in your actual cd/dvd drive. Bleh...

Back them up to ISOs and store on a big hard drive
![]() Use Daemontools to mount the ISOs in a virtual drive _____________________

Was thinking about the ISO thing, but nah, too much trouble I think....plus I'd have to pay bucks for a hard drive.
But holy crap, the link above looks like what I'm asking for. Although the other problem still stands...I guess it wouldn't do me as much good as I thought really, since damn copy protection bastard software probably wouldn't be happy that it's not in the "real" drive. Hmm...need to think about it more. Thanks for link though, good find. _____________________

I don't think their is a disc reader in any of them. And i'm sure the simplest model just gives you the disc you need. _____________________
