How many people per area can SL hold without refusing you entry to that land?
For example, if there is an event in Dore at the welcome area, how many people can the server hold before denying people entry to Dore?

I believe the sim limit is at 30 avatars. I'm not positive though. The limit isn't a huge number anyway, but it's been growing slowly and I expect that it will continue to rise in the future.

Yep, 30 people currently, plus Lindens. It's a softlimit and can be adjusted at runtime.

Yes, the limit is 30. I think Lindens count although if the region is full, they can "god" their way in. The Stage 4 meeting place overlaps two regions so that you can get 60 people at an event.

And dont forget the northern cousin of stage 4 which is built in 4 sims and so can hold 120 people at a single event.
