Yeah, I think that would be pretty cool too :) The current picture is a bit ... I don't know, cold.

But that would be showing favoritism. We know how much FAVORITISM is HATED here. We can't recognize single person’s hard work because it will make someone else with the self esteem of an acne prone 12 year old feel left out.

So, the cold current picture stays, just so no one feels left out and less special.

No, it would not be. Not if they regularly selected photos to use in the log-in, changing them every so often.

How about letting individuals choose what picture they wanted to use as a login shot? I don't know how hard that would be to implement, but it would be cool... you could either use the default, or upload a pic of your own choice to use instead. Some people might want attractive scenics, some might want wacky shots of their friends... it's an interesting idea, anyway.

Someone will complain, as someone always does. It is not worth the effort. All it would take is for one picture to be in the rotation too long and all hell would break loose.

I really could care less what they put up there...I just type in my pw and logon. If it were available to rotate resident pics through and If people get mad about what pic is on there then they have issues with themselves and jealousy.

Well, I think it's worth the effort. I am for as much inclusion of members as possible on the web pages, both as good PR and as a morale booster.

That particular screenshot reminds me of an old painting; sometime I will go downstairs and dig out which one it was.

i like the idea of cycling snapshots. i'll keep submitting "buy my land" billboard snapshots. this idea could work! my morale would definitely be boosted!

Those same acne-prone 12 year olds are mugging for the Linden camera right now, filling the chat window with pointless chat abbreviations and a huge prim that looks like Spongebob Squarepants.

Is this the new marketing pitch for the teen grid or are we staring down the barrel of reality in SL?

I mean, c'mon, Spongebob is cool. Why clutter him up with actual avatars?

Agreed. It's best left the way it is; cold and impersonal. Better than ruffling feathers.

There's a screenshot at login? I'm on that connect button so fast it never registers. :D

I agree, the new one is Cold and isolated feeling, I love the old background.

Feel free to download it and use it here http://oz.slinked.net/Wallpaper_1.png

Haven't uploaded it to SL yet, otherwise I'd provide the key to replace in the viewart.ini .

Nice Cid, hehehe!

The painting that screen shot reminded me of (I went downstairs and looked it up) was "Imaginary Landscape," by Asher B. Durand, 1850.

And also, but less so, "In the Catskills," by Thomas Cole, 1837.

In any case, I think it was a singularly good screenshot, and the person who took it, whoever that was, a terrific photographer with a good eye for composition.
