I'm doing everything that I learned from the building classes, the help sections and a lot of good players about building stuff which has become my favorite thing. Here are my gripes and frustrations and I need your help, in case it's my fault and I overlooked something: I worked many hours putting objects together, making sure that the match is perfect, ligning up the textures so it flows from object to object, hoping to get rid of that thin broken line that tells you your almost there. First by sight, then by the numbers. All looks great. Now I ever so carefully link all the stuff together, knowing that moving the mouse just a little by selecting the objects can throw the positions off. Great,...... linking is complete! Why is it that when I return to the game the next day, the objects are out of alignment , including the textures? The numbers never changed! Man, somebody tell me the secret!!! Please. Or is this a built-in tolerance and it's going to be as good as it gets? OK, vented my frustration, whew, feel much better. " I'll be back". Peter

I think it has to do with the lossyness of the compression system. It causes some minor errors in where your client -thinks- things are. Which makes things look non aligned when they are.... and means other people may see it as non aligned when it is. They are working on this but I doubt it will ever go away completely. My suggestion is to hide it. :-/ I know, ya don't want to .... but ... my church looks better cuz it has more support beams. Floors are harder and I havn't found a good way to hide those... make buildings larger than 10*10 multi level? I also know its not always possible to hide em. Like I said, it's not you and they know about it and they are working on it (if it is what I said.). Good luck.

Area rugs are good for hiding floor problems. My 2 Lindenbucks.

Support beams ... WHAT A GOOD IDEA hehe ... never thought of that ... although Zelgadas has fixed our ceiling so it looks much better than it did ... but I'll keep that beam thing in mind.

Thanks Ama, yeah I'm already hiding the four corners of my house with vertical beams cause the walls kept shifting and a door sill to hide the shifting between the foundation and the deck. I also use a lot of shrubbery, ferns and trees to hide flaws in the landscaping. I just have a ceiling texture that I like and the affects of the pattern are gone when I put up ceiling beams. If I keep going and hide all the faults, at a minimum of L$10 per object that I don't really want, I'll soon be spending more than the building is worth.
Thanks for your reply and explanation
Peter

Want good corners on a house but need a house bigger than 10 x 10 another option is to make the 4 corners out of 10 x10 boxes shell them out 85 or 90% then use your cut numbers to create a L shaped wall. then you can build door frames where the walls join and or Fireplaces. Hence 4 Objects instead of 8 and perfect Corners and it relieves the process of trying to allign the corners. Reduction in BUilding Planning.. use the tools to the fullest..
