So, in the course of the charity auction, I managed to win two hours of time with both Blue and Brent Linden. These "dates" are pretty much just my excuse to pick the Lindens brains, as well as donate to charity, but I figure there's only so many ways to ask about the API... Does anyone have any questions they'd like to me to ask them when I meet up with them?
I can't promise to ask every question, but any suggestions would be welcomed. For the record: Blue is a part-time liason and the transfer manager between the main grid and the Teen Grid; Brent is a bug hunter.
Thanks!

Ask Brent when the sound engine is going to stop pounding my eardrums with volume bursts. I've been asking LL to fix that for over a year. Thanks in advance.

Bring flowers and hold the door open. It might not get you to second base but it will earn you brownie points.

I'm kind of amazed that there isn't a giant post about it today, a whole ton of money was raised! It went well and it was HYSTERICAL. ( see my profile for highlights...)
Bub topped everyone by going for a whopping 250k between myself and Nim.
I'd like to see the numbers for everyone myself.
And a big thank you to everyone who participated. I have friends down there, and this means a lot to me and to so many other people. SL is a wonderful thing.

I had an idea once you might pitch to Blue. Two Luna type sims can be established for the selling of items between the adult and teen grids. Obviously the sims would be open to their respective shopping audiences most of the time. Short, regularly scheduled, maintenance periods will be published to allow merchants to manage their displays. Shoppers will be locked out during those times so that there's no actual contact between the players.
Well published disclaimers will make the fact very clear, to both sets of shoppers, that customer service will be necessarily non-existant. The point will be to share development ideas and such without providing any possibility of abuse. I presume that our accounts are already flagged to disallow the viewing of profile information and the opening of IMs between the two categories of users. Linden's feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Of course you'll be admitting an unimaginably gross oversight so you might not want to say anything.
From Brent I'd like to know who is working on the current and new rendering engines. Fractal and I have formed a group to focus some user input to them and interactively try to help them identify and test possible improvements in alpha presentation. Granted you may be told that the LL coding teams are not the least bit interested in interfacing with us; but it's worth asking.

This is technically possible but I don't think you should hold your breath. All hail the central grid and whatnot

Hehe... so "Date a Linden" is now "Interrogate a Linden", eh?
While I'll try to answer what I can, I'd like to remind ya'll that I'm not a developer! I'll see what sort of public responses I can get to your questions, but no promises! I won't be able to provide any insight into future versions or anything like that.
A freebie: Huns: Is this on a vehicle you created yourself? llPlaySound calls and llLoopSound calls made from the same prim will collide, and cause a terrible sound to erupt out of your vehicle. A workaround is to have another prim in the linkset call each llPlaySound using llMessageLinked and a matching link_message event. Do this for every sound your vehicle can play. If you need two loop sounds to play together, run them on separate prims.
I'll see what answers I can get for everyone else's queries.
Oh, and Jarod? I prefer chocolates to roses.
