Recently I've been experimenting with jewelry. Specifically linking several earrings, bracelets and anklets together to be worn all at once. Since some of these pieces are themselves made of several prims, and they're all small and fiddly, I'm having trouble. Is there a way to Unlink just ONE thing from the rest? See, I put all these things together, just eyeballing it, link it, and there's always 1 or 2 adjustments, but when I detach and unlink, everything is unlinks, even the earrings that are made of multiple parts. Which is a problem, because sometimes it's not quite possible for me to put everything back together again. Thanks.

In the edit gui, choose the 'Select individual' radio button. Then click on the individual prim you want to unlink. Hit CTRL-SHIFT-G.
Then go back up and re-select 'Position' at the top. You can now adjust the individual object to your heart's desire, while the rest of the prims remain linked.

I need to check this out when I log in, but I've always used CTRL + SHIFT + L to unlink objects......

One trick I use all the time, for buildings or tiny things, is to lift groups high into the air before unlinking. This way, there is nothing behind the object so I can drag a selection box around the whole group when I need to re-link. If I need to remove one prim from the link, use the individual trick Coyote mentioned. But if you want to make a number of changes, unlink all the objects in a location where nothing is behind/above them so you can get a "clean" drag box linkage. This is why I tend to build on the edges of sims... Yeah the ocean view is nice, but it's VERY handy for linking large groups. Oh, and has anyone else found some strangeness when linking large number of prims together. If I select them all and link, I get the "too many" error. If I select half, link them, add the rest, and link again... It works. And if you are having troubles with the "too far apart" error, select one half (third, etc) of the prims. Then unselect and reselect (click twice, but not a double-click) the prim closest to the rest of the build, then link. Do the same to the rest of the build. Then when you select all the linkages, their yellow bordered "head" prims will be close to each other, and you can link the whole unit together. I only just found out some of these linking tricks today. I'm going to have to do some tests in Olive. See if I can make a track that goes around the whole sim, and link it into a single piece! (Unlinking it will be a BITCH though. How I SOOOO want nested links!!!!)

I believe nested links have been requested before...
Second your request to the nth power, though! bog knows it would come in *vastly* useful.
