Those of you who may have read a previous thread about "ghost sitings", may already know that my mom died many years ago on the 4th of July. Because I recently posted in a thread about her it started me thinking about her favorite plant, the Night Blooming Cereus.
I almost could feel the sticky warmth of childhood summer evenings and smell the sweet jasmine like scent of the Cereus bloom that she would hang on the chandalier in our dining room. I loved watching the flower start to unfold at dusk and was always disappointed to see it closed and scentless at the dawn of the next day.
This exotic flower is a fitting representation of my beautiful opera singing Mother - exquisite but too short lived.
In memory of her, I have created the unusual plant for all to copy. You can find it at the Free Bazzar, Stillman (155, 94). I have put a note card in the plant describing it's uniqueness. I live thousands of miles from where she lay now, so this is my way of putting a very special flower on her grave and letting her know that not a day goes by that I don't think of her.
Happy 4th of July SL - cherish your family and friends in RL and in SL for they are the flowers of life.
Rose
