Now THERE is an article, guys!
Fabulous! This one does capture the flavor. And Chip, I loved your quote about the plaid golf pants! SL is getting more and more good coverage like this. The curve for the coverage seems to be as good as the curve for the population! And I think the guy who wrote it is right, too - that one day these types of things will be so mainstream that people spend as much time in worlds like this as watching TV. But isn't that what all of us have been saying all along? coco _____________________

Ha! I don't think I've ever had a web site I've created referenced as a "source" before. Its kind of flattering!

The appeal of a place like Second Life, a turbocharged version of The Sims, Software is not "turbocharged" and calling SL a "version" of The Sims is like calling delicious tri-tip sirloin a "version" of a Big Mac. _____________________

They make it sound vile, tbh.
The table at the end on the comparitive cost of status symbols - blurgh. Of course the latter are not status symbols in SL as anyone can get them. Are we really trying to attract lots of really shallow people or is that the target market of the newspaper? _____________________

Hah - I had a whole different take on it, Huns. TSO is turbocharged for me, compared to SL. If you hung out with the people I do there, you would feel pretty charged too, as the conversation is about a mile-a-minute and magnifico funny, and so is the mischief we get up to.
SL . . . awful quiet, compared. For me, this is. coco _____________________

Well, you're not feted here. You are there. (chuckle)
Good article, but yes, a bit on the mainstream 'pop culture' side. Then again, it is to be expected that they (LL) will have to mainstream to acheive the end they seek. _____________________
