Do you think im being naive..or too pushy?

Is 18 days too long to wait for someone to pay off on a Prize award....just looking for opinions......ive had to shut down some projects in world due to the awards "backlog".....im not a pushy person...and the award is promised to be delivered..but now its starting to drag on in time...and my builds are being delayed...am i naive? ........

omg Maerl. Please tell me I didn't forget to pay you a prize or I'm gonna die of embarrassment.

18 days is way too long. That's past being politely patient. And 2K isn't so huge an amount I think. 18 days? Whoever owes you has had 2 stripends to pay you, plus whatever else they do to make money!

They've had plenty of time to make arraingements to pay you what they owe you. Plenty of time to make whatever adjustments to assure you you get what you deseave.

Take this to them and tel them you want your money, you've been patient and accomidating enough, let this person make some financial adjustments and pay you instead of you having to make adjustments to give them another 18 days.

Sorry, but there's no exscuse for taking this long. if this person had to derez stuff to reduce taxes enoguh to pay you, so be it, they've had 2 tax days to do this. Don't put uo with this.

I agree with Jellin. 18 days is at a minimum 11 days too long for a $2k award, and really is probably 18 days too long. Why is someone offering awards they can't pay?

Misnomer..I , in no way..said it was Ama......i was answering his question IN HIS POST!....please read the thread.....im not naming the person who owes this award to me...i wanted to know opinions on the length some others would wait.....and i agree Ama....i was concerned when the award wasnt satisfied at the completion of the contest.....but they said they would pay me..that they did not have the finances at that time...which was 18 days ago.....

<cont>.....and the stature of which this person holds in Sl.....i expected them to fully pay the award....they had even gone as far as to say when they would fullfill the award...but that deadline passed........i contacted them again.....and they said they would see that i received it......but since that day..which was 10 days ago.........ive seen them online..but no message was sent to me about the debt........

Hey Maerl, I think prizes should be awarded at the time of the contest as well, unless a different timeline of payment is disclosed before the contest...

In any event, if your builds are being delayed, I'd be more than happy to loan you 2k or whatever for your continuing game enjoyment until the debt is paid.

On a seperate note, if you still don't get what's owed you after reading all this, I'd like to know who owes it to you so that I know never to go to this person's contests as they cannot be trusted to pay up.

I'd be surprised if I were the only person who'd want a heads up on this.

Alek, you are, without a doubt, the finest little person i know ...i thank you for your incredible offer to pay someone elses debt....but that wont help anyone but the one that owes said debt...YOU, alek, and people like you..are the reason SL is the best virtual world on the market...i consider myself very lucky to have friends like you in world ...from day one you helped me and showed me what i could accomplish in world...

I read it as Ama also, which I am glad that it is not, that would seem totally out of character for Ama.

I agree with Alek, the prize should be given at the time of contest.

Didn't mean to jump at ya Mis, sorry! I just didn't read it that way and was concerned if you were correct - I do own more than a couple gambling games and if there was some reason I owed anyone money I wanted to know about it so I could remedy the situation.

Again I agree with Jellin - a heads up on who it is would be nice. Then again I have on occasion with held publicly releasing names until all chance has been given for things to be remedied, so I understand that too.

Yes, it would be VERY out of character for Ama.. and he seemed clueless (as well he should be since I was wrong) so I ass-u-me-d that if it had been him, he forgot. But since none of this is the case and Ama is as always good to his commitments, please disregard.

I just felt the need to add again since I dont want anyone thinking I think ill of Ama. Quite the contrary.
