Right oh, rant time, haven't had one for aaaggggggesssssss..
Do you ever have days where you just wanna throw your hands up in the air and say RIGHT, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.. I'm OUT of here.
Seriously, I know we all get fed up from time to time and go on a hiatu's, step away, back off, however you deal with it, but why do we get like this is my question.
One minute you can be perfectly happy, and the next minute you just wanna strangle everyone and blow up your PC so you can't get on the net at all. (no I don't have issues, I am merely using examples).
One day you can be sat having fun with a ton of people you love and adore, the next day you are calling 911 for a series of Dramambulances.. WHY????
Isn't SL supposed to be an escape from RL, where you can go to chill, relax, make friends, profit if you are good at anything and well just generally CHILL THE FOOK OUT? For me, personally, SL is a place where I can do things I wouldn't do in real life, like chat openly to people I don't know, generally goof around and be flirty, silly, cos you see in RL I am uber shy.. HONESTLY, I probably wouldn't say boo to a goose! I just wonder what drama queens get out of SL, why people get their kicks hurting other people, why people things its fun to bitch about people and say pointless mean things, when really they don't even KNOW that other person, and why do people think its acceptable to bullshit you?
BAH.. iunno what I am really trying to say, I just wanted views.. so please flame, talk, discuss and whine away.... I am looking forward to your views.

- step away from the computer
- breathe
- Now, imagine your pain as a white ball of healing light.
- Keep this going and step forward, through the back door of the room.
- Step forward into your cave.
- And you're going to find your power animal...
- Slide
- Consider "What kind of dining set defines me as a person?"
Yeah, it gets to us all, not unlike life at times. What kind of dining set defines you as a person?

4. Let the white ball soldify as it grows. 5. Shove it down the throat of the offending person. 6. Consider "What kind of dining set defines me as a person?", and "What a nice shade of blue he/she turned just before the quivering and twitching stopped."

Well, I'd say the South Park picture above me pretty much says it all. But here's my take on this. Probably entirely different from what you're talking about, but anyway . . . So, like - take real life. We can pretty much manage to cull the negative or drama-creating life-breath suckers from our real lives, and generally manage to do so by somewhere in our twenties, I'd say, most of us. So I don't have any of those in my real life. And even if you DO have some of them in your real life (maybe they're relatives and you're stuck with them, or something), generally they play by reasonably civilized rules. Or, take work. There may be a couple of pills there, but generally they don't make your life a total living hell, or they wouldn't still be there, or you'd quit. Again, the rules are reasonably civilized. Ditto running errands. The grocery store, the library, etc. Generally people are reasonably civilized there, as well, and if you're a reasonably cheery person, those necessary tasks can be a pleasant foray into the world of People You Don't Know. Now, let's take Second Life. I guess because it's online, you get people saying and doing things they would never say or do to your face in real life. People who will devote HOURS - maybe their entire second lives - to being an actively anti-social pain in the butt. People who want to be just plain mean, and will do pretty much anything to that end. Or people who want everything to be all about them, and here it's easy for them to make it all about them. Or people who get their kicks inconveniencing others by griefing them or their events. Or people who will actually sit around doing nothing but mocking another person or other people's ideas in a group channel, say, or on the forums, so everyone can hear it. Or any combination of the above. Often these people group together , where they sort of try to outdo each other as to who can be funniest or most clever while being mean, unpleasant, or unkind to another person, and they reinforce each other in this behavior. To the point, sometimes, where even third-graders on the playground look better socialized. I always figure people who are mean and nasty online are secretly mean and nasty in real life, too, but they cloak it better there, mainly cause they HAVE to, to survive. Otherwise they would get decked. But online, they can be as nasty as they wanna be, and they can even find others who will enjoy practicing the same sport with them. (And since nobody can really deck them, it can be pretty frustrating to have to live with it.) But just as people's mean and petty natures can be more openly expressed online, so can other people's sweet and pure natures. Online is a wonderful place precisely because people's hearts and souls can shine through in a way that often can't be easily seen by others in real life. And that's why I love online. So I guess you gotta take the bitter with the sweet. coco

Lol yeah coco, you pretty much summed up how it is. It just baffles me that people can be as asshatish as they are sometimes, I mean jeebus we can all lose our rag and say things but making it a hobby is just plan idiotic, I pity the people that have nothing nice to say or input to SL, I really do, cripes, if you are mean to your friends, you really don't deserve any, I mean yes, friends are there for us to lean on, but not take the piss out of. Btw, this is in no way a thread that screams ZOMG I AM TEH LEAVING!!1111ONEOEN!111, just wanted views Although, that sometimes seems like an incredibly fantastic idea. Now to go and deal with an asshat in RL, do you think its socially acceptable to punch someone in the face thats shorter than you?

Whoo, calm down. 'Tis only words on a screen; tease the perps, laugh at them, laugh with them if you want, but don't take it seriously - like you said, you're here to relax. Personally I find drama queens well amusing: either they're totally taking the piss and aren't serious, or they're getting themselves worked up which generally means they'll get narked when they don't phase you or realise you don't care. From: Willow Zander One minute you can be perfectly happy, and the next minute you just wanna strangle everyone and blow up your PC so you can't get on the net at all. Certainly, you'd be discriminating otherwise. And everyone knows the only people you're allowed to discriminate against are gingers.

Yeah, it gets to us all, not unlike life at times. What kind of dining set defines you as a person? 9. Take your power animal shopping for table- and flatware 10. Gawk at the price 11. Go on a fast food binge with your power animal in the food court I know I feel better.

Pretty much. Now where did I keep those schadenfreude score cards? Ah, right next to the chakra shockers!
