With PvP abuse on the rise and chronic abusers being treated like spoild children with "Time Outs" instead of real consequences being meted out by Lindens. Residents are forced to suffer attacks by malicious scripters on a regular basis!
One strong alternative would be to suspend or ban ALL avatars using the same credit card data and assessing "ReInstatement Fees" to repeat offenders!
It is time for Linden Labs to act forcefully before developers and 'law-abiding' residents seek other RPGs!

I believe this is already what is done, yes? When a griefer proves themselves to be such by repeated griefing, they are suspended, yes? It was my impression no other accounts linked to that creditcard would work. Maybe I'm wrong. If that's not the way it is, I think it aught to be.

That would not be a good idea since a lot of us have accounts on the same card as our S.O. or friend or relative or whoever bought the account for us. If someone buys their 18 year old kid a $10 account, should they be banned for their kid's behavior?

By using their credit card, they are in essence vouching for the other person's credibility when it comes to following the TOS. If they can't or aren't willing to make such a guarantee, then they should be telling the other person to sod off and find their own credit card.

Only Abusing Avatar is suspended or banned
05-03-2005 07:53
Currently only the abusing avatar is suspended. With Lindens allowing 5 Avatars per card it is easy to create Alts for malicious purposes. If the Card that is used is suspended or banned many of these childish morons will lose not only the "alt' but thier inventories and property as well!
Linden Labs could also consider a re-instatement fee of a significant dollar amount as an additional detterent. If it cost a griefer 50 bucks to get back in game after a 3rd or 4th suspension they may think twice about conituing thier aberrant behaviors.
