Thanks to everyone who attended the Second Life Community Convention Kick Off Party and Charity Raffle last night!

Because of generous donations and raffle ticket purchases, we raised in excess of L$175,000 last night! I can't thank the generous merchants, land owners, and everyone else who donated items, land and services enough... as well as the wonderful people who brought tickets!

ReallyRick Metropolitan was the GRAND PRIZE winner, winning the prop ring from the film, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. This was generously donated by Fizik Baskerville from avalon.crew and was actually use by Mos Def in the filming on the movie!

This brings the total we've raised to over L$820,000 (through the account I have set up - I'm aware there are others as well!). This is fantastic.

Interest in attending the Convention remains high - www.SLConvention.com - consider coming, as there's only ever a "FIRST" of something once! It should be a wonderful time.

Thanks again to everyone involved!

-Flip

i'm sure i must have read about this somewhere, but i don't recall seeing anything about it. *slaps forehead* it's times like these that make me think i'm not spending enough time in-world or in-forums!

congrats to ReallyRick, even though i wish i had been there and won it.. that's an awesome prize!! now, will he be grabbing onto Fizik at the convention and "sticking out his thumb for a ride"? :)

anyhoo, i'm amazed at the amount that's been raised. congrats on that.. and is there a place to make donations? i may have to wander through and drop some L$ into the pot.

Donations can be made at the sign in Waterhead, or by paying the account FLIP ASSIA directly. The Flip Assia account has been set up to be fee of GOM fees graciously by the GOM team.

Pathfinder Linden has access to account as well, to get amount updates. Last I checked several hours ago, we had surpassed L$820,000 raised! :-)

Regards,

Wow what a great amount and what a great event!

YAY me for the ring. I have no idea what it is and stuff, never seen the movie or read the books, but from the reaction I got from avies at the party who immediately started trying to bribe me for it, hehe I assume it's a good thing.

When I told my roommate she freaked out and told me that if I even think of selling it or trading it she would kill me.

Thanks AVALON CREW!

Congrats to everyone who participated in the raffle. It was a lot of fun and for a good cause.

Is there a list of winners somewhere? Just wondering. I won several things and have been happily going through my box of goodies from the Deadly Nightshade Corset set Collection & Victorian Vamp Gowns provided by Jennyfur Peregrine. I am having so much fun with all her wonderful clothes. I wanted to say thanks but I was kind of waiting for a general list, not wanting to steal any thunder.

Thanks for everything. This was a great idea.

The most successful software company in the world does a piss-poor job on all these points. Particularly the first three. Why do you expect Linden Labs to do any better?
Yes, it's true, I have a blog now!

I have a rough copy of a winners list in my inventory. I can tweak it a bit and post it

I know you are busy and wouldn't want to put you through extra work.

I must say, I am in awe of your skills and am so happy I won your Deadly Nightshade Corset set Collection & Victorian Vamp Gowns. They are so awesome.
