I've only been here 4 months and haven't searched the whole grid. Hopefully someone knows the answer to this...Is there a New Orleans or NO-style sim or build in Second Life? Specifically, is there anything similar to the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, the Garden District, etc.?

But while the rebuilding of RL New Orleans might take years and years...wouldn't it be cool if some people got together and rebuilt virtual New Orleans in Second Life? (this coming from someone who just learned how to make two cubes of the same size, lol). I think as a group project, this could help people who are grieving the loss of that great city, as well as serve as a permanent/semi-permanent tribute to all those who lost their lives, or their loved ones, their livelihoods, and their history...
Really, it's just an idea from a non-builder who is mourning the loss of New Orleans and the smell of the river, the music coming from the bars, gumbo, po'boys, wrought iron railings...I could go on and on. The idea is free to anyone who wants it. |

New Orleans - the real one - will rise again. Gumbo, wrought-iron railings and all.

There was a New Orleans a while back; early spring I think. Athel Richelieu had a jazz club there.

the JAVA sim used to have a New Orleans theme, but they tore it down and replaced it, tho I think one of the old houses from it remains.
