The 45-60 mins is only an approximation, since it's an interview and not a survey. It really depends on how long someone wants to talk, since I'm definitely not going to make them stop, lol

Unfortunately for this part of the research study its only going to be gay males, but hopefully I'll be able to expand it in the future.

We're a little worried up here, but I don't think we'll go to the masks quite yet, haha. But I think the price of hand sanitizer has jumped up, lol!

Unfortunately, I'm looking for avatars that are over 30 days old and aren't alts...

I will say that your survey does seem rather long (time of 45-60mins) and I cannot say if you will get many respondents, but you may be lucky since you have such a narrow focus point and be able to draw in some people who are interested.

Will you be making your results public to the forum?

I would definitely consider posting some of my findings, it all kind of depends though- besides it wouldn't be available until next year, since this study is for my thesis.

I would recommend going in-world to initiate an in-depth survey of this nature. Email seems to be kind of a chilly way to do it. That said, I have some very eccentric notions about managing SL so you shouldn't necessarily take my recommendation at face value.

However, I rarely see any regular in-world gay/bisexual male avatars posting to these forums. Two good locations to start would be Tristars and Cargo City, which are both extremely popular but are quite different in terms of visitor type although there is some overlap of regulars between these sims.

Note You would be advised to approach the sim owners first: Mihai Antwerp in the case of Tristars and Hubs Howlett in the case of Cargo City. They are both very reasonable guys.

I have been trying to utilize both in-world and out in order to reach as many people as I can. I agree that the email system does seem a bit cold and distant, but figured that I could reach more people this way that may be interested as well as reaching residents that I may not come in contact with, but would want to participate. But, I'm definitely planning on trying to find people in-world as well!

Those sims are about as busy as any sim of that nature gets in SL. However, I think both Mihai and Hubs would be in a much more informed position to recommend others. Like I said, they're both very reasonable guys.
