We are looking for art for the upcoming "From the Sea to the Sky" exhibition at the Liome Cultural Center. The Cultural Center features different themed exhibits every few months. For this one, we need art pieces that are inspired by or somehow represent the sea (water, lakes, oceans, etc) and/or the sky (air, clouds, etc).
While we may display some paintings or drawings, we are primarily interested in sculpture or three dimensional pieces and encourage work that is abstract, approaches the theme in a creative way and/or evokes some thought or emotion in the viewer. Due to space constraints small - medium sculptural pieces have a better chance of being included than very large ones (and those that are extremely high prim may be a challenge as well)
Selected artwork will be displayed for approx. 5 weeks. Each piece will have a small display that will give viewers a notecard telling them about the artist, and may include a lm to where they can purchase or view their work.
While this is not a paid job, it could be a good chance for artists to get a bit of exposure, and the Cultural Center will be giving out awards ranging from L$500 to L$2000 lindens to artists who are selected as "best in show" at the end of the exhibition (selected by a panel of judges). At some point during the exhibition, there will be a reception in the gallery to bring in additional viewers.
Interested artists should contact Folsom Carter inworld. You may submmit a photo of your work or a lm to where I can see it. We may accept a single piece or up to a few pieces from each artist. Thanks!
