The MagnaMural: Texture Display & Texture Organizer is now free, public domain, and open source.
I was inspired by the essay Why Software Should Be Free by Richard Stallman to release it into the public domain.
If you like it, or even if you don't, I welcome donations of any size.
The MagnaMural is only 4 prims (note: regular prims, not mega-prims), and it is designed to be easy and intuitive to use.
The thing the MagnaMural is most criticized for is the fact that it only displays one texture at a time.
But, to get around that, you can rez multiple copies of the MagnaMural and arrange them in whatever layout you want. You can control them all at the same time, or issue commands to each MagnaMural separately.
Some of the features of the MagnaMural:
* Full perms, including the scripts, so you can modify it any way you wish, or use it as a container in which to package any textures you want to give away or sell.
* Controllable through clicks, text chat commands (in both normal chat and the silent chat channel of your choice), & gestures.
* Resizeable via text chat commands to any width & height from 20 m to 0.04 m.
* Navigate through your textures forward, backward, randomly. Go directly to any texture by saying its number.
* Instantly retrieve the texture on display.
* Excellent easily-changed wall mural, carpet, wall, window, or whatever else you please.
* Great for slideshows, photo shoots, modeling, theater stages.
* Also makes a nice resizeable TV or movie screen with which you can watch streaming video.
* Output a numbered, alphabetical list of every texture contained in the MagnaMural, which you can then copy and paste into a text editor on your own computer, and jot down your own notes on what the various textures look like.
With the help of this list, you will be able to easily find any texture and go to it just by saying its number. You can also easily search the list using your text editor's search features.
