Meta Messages is an offworld, web-based messaging system that is designed to extend inworld communication for Second Life® residents.

Meta Messages allows communication without being logged into Second Life, and eliminates capped IM's, missed messages, and the need to rely on awkward notecards while still protecting your personal identity. Using this system is more reliable than inworld IMs since messages won't get capped, and can be checked by the recipient even when they aren't inworld.

By combining the Meta Messages website and your choice of easy-to-use inworld devices, you can send and receive messages whether you are logged in to Second Life or not, be notified of unread messages when you log into Second Life, store your message for later, have them forwarded to your personal (yet private) email address, or have a SMS notification sent to your cell phone*.

A configurable address book allows you to control exactly whose messages you will receive, and how.

The group option allows messages to be sent to multiple members at once. (Note: this is an organizational feature, and not related to inworld groups.)

The membership is purchased or renewed in 6-month increments. Therefore, the membership will need to be renewed every 6 months.
