He caught just a glimpse of her back as she slid out the door... he followed and watched as she took the steps down. The beach was empty, the scented air cool and breezy. She leaned down, took off her shoes and carried them as she walked. He followed down the steps, catching glimpses of her as she walked on, into the moonlight he saw her and out again a shadow. Rounding the last step he hurried his pace... her distance was gaining and he had to see her face. Looking at her footprints he dashed towards her, watching as she entered the moonlight.. and exiting to see her shadow.
