Someone please explain to me why land owners are using the phrase "For Sale" on land when it is not being sold.
When I buy something I have the right over what I do on it. I can run nude and scream to the top of my lungs if i like. I can stay up all night and play my music loud, put up flashing red lights and even let my dogs run wild when i OWN my land.
It is so confuusing to me to see "For Sale, For Sale, For Sale" on land only to find a covenant. How confusing do you think it is for new folks coming into second life and seeing a choice piece of land listed "FOR SALE" only to find out its for lease or rent?
I think some of our residents need to go to real estate school and find out the difference between the terms in property transfers.
For sale - I own it, i do what i like on it. No covenant. Can be resold. I pay tier to Linden Lab
For Lease - A contract granting use or occupation of property during a specified period in exchange for a specified rent. Covenant/Agreement. I pay tier to "The Landlord/Owner of the land"
For Rent - Payment, usually of an amount fixed by contract, made by a tenant at specified intervals in return for the right to occupy or use the property of another. Covenant/Agreement. I pay tier to "The landlord/owner of the land"
