So I bought the new Budweiser aluminum bottles today. Very sleek looking, neat graphics, and sold in 1 pint bottles.

So before Googling it, I wanted to ask all of my genius friends on the SL forums....What's the deal with these new bottles? Personally I like the look and feel, but am wondering if they were made for any other reason than marketing.

On the bottle it states "This can contains more than three times the aluminum found in a standard can. Please remember the impotance of recycling." I usually drink out of glass bottles, is drinking out of an aluminum bottle any better?

Oh, on a side note, do NOT try to crush the new bottles on your head as you might have with the cans. It hurts.

They are cheaper for Bud to use than glass. Some say the aluminum taints the flavor of the beer, but they have a special coating they put on the inside now to prevent that.

Could it be a push from the environmental community?
The energy expended on recycling aluminum is significantly less then what you'd need to use to recycle the equivelant amnt of paper or glass - or so they say.
