Turn Everyone IN!

I am so inspired by the recent mood in these forums lately that I'm thinking, as I look around, there really are so few people that I SHOULDN'T be turning in to the FBI!

For Example: My neighbour once ran across his livingroom to answer the phone and his towel dropped. I saw his naked body for a second before he vanished from view. This happened during the daytime. Also he lives within a 3 mile radius of a school.

It doesn't matter that he's never been charged with any criminal acts. It doesn't matter that he never approached any children, never tried to harm them, never even looked at pictures of children. What matters is that he could have traumatized some poor kid walking by (not that there was one coz this is during the daytime when kids are supposed to be in school. In fact, it would be against the rules for them to be in a place to see him nude). Just because kids aren't supposed to be there doesn't mean they couldn't be. Therefore he is a child abuser and molester and must be stopped by ALL MEANS NECESSARY!!!

I will be pestering the FBI (who maybe might need to put aside ACTUAL cases where ACTUAL children are being harmed) to make sure that they stop him IMMEDIATELY before anyone gets harmed.

Dang. you know, I should have attached a poll to this asking people to identify themselves as being all for this or as the child molesters they surely must be if they don't agree that all thought criminals must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. or of laws that don't exist but that I am making up as I go along.

People should just give birth to old babies. That way, we won't have all these issues.

You can take a child of any age to a nudist colony for all the law cares. Nudity isn't the issue and never has been and everyone knows it.

The problem is when you decide to have sex with that child or expose it to sexual material.

Like say for instance you are a sick f*ck and you like to have little johnnie sit on your lap and watch the computer screen as your SL grown man avatar plows the pretend 5-year-old, "Little Jimmy's" butt. No real child is being physically raped at that point, but little Johnny is by definition being "abused."

This is absolutely gruesome and horrifying HOWEVER that doesn't make it right to censor what people are doing in world when they are in fact breaking no laws whatsoever.

The entire argument that people are using sl to harm and sexually exploit children seems way off target to me. It would be like saying that first person shooters are training murderers.

If someone is a pedophile looking for material to justify doing what they do, there are much more obvious places to look than SL. Wanna do a search sometime just on the word girl and see what comes up? or barely legal? THOUSANDS of sites cater to that illness much more directly and profoundly than Second Life ever could.

If someone is abusing a child, that is a crime and should be stopped. Pornography that depicts children and pornography that hints at depicting children should also be taken off the market. EVERY gas station that I go to in my town has barely legal porn mags and naughty neighbours mags where people are supposedly caught on candid camera having sex while they are dressed to look like teenagers (though supposedly the actors are adult). These are MUCH more publicly available than SL. Even advertising sexualizes children far more widely than SL. Look at a teenage girl's magazine lately? Some advertisers are happy to dress 11 and 13- year old girls up like prostitutes and Guess even emulated, quite purposefully, child pornography in some of its commercials. THIS is a serious issue and should be discussed indepth. No children should be in SL. Period. If they are, or if an adult is letting a child use his or her account, it should be reported and the account closed. Child exploitation is a serious issue and deserves serious discussion: not just trolling and trying to stir up shite.

What two adults do to roleplay is quite quite different. If I choose to reenact my loss of virginity with my partner at a make-believe movie theatre, that should be my own damn business.

Unfortunately, that very implication has been made by some anti-video game crusaders.

I wholeheartedly agree that any abuse of children should be reported and punished to the fullest extent of the law. However, SL's main grid is, by definition, a place for adults. While I may or may not not agree with certain fantasies or roleplay situations in SL, it is not my (or, in my opinion, anyone's) place to prohibit the fantasy activities of consenting adults.

How often do you think this really happens?
