I am in technolust over this keyboard.

Linden Labs I would be happy to beta test one of these extensively with Second Life if you'd kindly provide me with a demo model.

Why do you lust over this keyboard? I guess it does look kinda cool. But. .

i) The custom display keys doesn't help speed up access to the keys. If it was being used for some quick FPS game, you'd probably spend most of your time being dead, if you had to look at the keyboard to find the keys. Similarly, you'd be losing productivity with other serious applications if you had developed a habit to look at the keyboard.

ii) This is quite a long keyboard, judging from the space left between the qwerty, arrow keys and keypad. Increased width and distance means you'd be moving your arms more when switching between typing, arrows and keypad.

I'd personally lust over the Belkin Nostromo paired with a Logitech G5 mouse tho.

Well it's technolust not technoI'dLikeToHaveThis, so there doesn't necessarily need to be a lot of rational thought behind my desire :)

I don't play a ton of high-speed games, FPS's etc. I *do* use random applications with all sorts of key combinations (Photoshop, Audacity, etc.) so not having to flip back & forth to a manual to see the keyboard shortcuts would be nice. If I did play a game, it'd be nice to be able to glance down and see "BFG" instead of "7" to get reoriented quickly.

As far as the shape, anything non-standard feels weird to me, but using it long enough, I could probably get used to it. Still, to each his own.

I believe the donkey automatically generates contrary forum posts.

Ooh! I'll take two! :D

This is an exceptional keyboard that does seem to fill a niche. I can't wait to hear reviews on its performance.

As an aside, I bumped into the music video from which you got your forum icon on Google Video. It's a great animation.

Ok, this is like as far opposite as you can get from the keyboard I originally posted. It's like the anti-optimus.

I think it's cool too though. I have no idea why it's so expensive, you think they'd save a little money not printing the keys. I guess it has to do with quantity. I wonder if the same effect can be had with my regular keyboard & Krylon.
