yes!! its great fun.. I used it for a while to make amusing shots.. dam I spent hours doing it, and then my HDD got burned and I lost the bloody lot >.<; along with a years worth of Maps created in hammer.. I learned a valuable lesson.
so much fun attaching a gas canaster to the Gmans ass and sending him ripping though the room with the flame exaust.. omgwtf fun!! also made a lunar lander from the buggy and gas canasters.. very VERY stable  lol not._____________________

One Word of Warning tho- playing around with Half-Life 2 physics will make you WISH we had that in SL.  |

I'm thinking they stopped the free version 9 so people will buy the version 10 when it comes out.
From what I understand you have to have HL2 installed. I think I might check it out when the version 10 is released |

Garry's Mod is a lot of fun, especially on a LAN. Hopefully GM10 will be out soon
