I wonder when will be day that the online community will have any power or will to make influence about world politics. I mean we all have instant news access, instant posting and stuff, we could uproar against the war in the middle east, even against bad politics inside ones own nation, even create politic groups inside SL. (lobby lobby lobster lol)
We have large online communities, but is it only for leisure, griefing or mourning?

Or the internet is only a place to make money by taxing ISPs per page views and selling commODDities?

discuss.

Just kidding.

Actually it has already begun, online communications at the speed of electrons alerts and provides info to other more traditional forms of media.
This in turn does create attention storms which affects the decisions of those in positions of power.
