Sick to Death of Viagara Emails

They're like the tribbles in Star Trek. Every frekken time I open my bulk mail, there are more. They try to trick me into opening them with promises of wealth, health, and heightened sexual appeal. Or they pretend to be old aquaintances catching up, or business prospects until I open it and I see something like:

and at first it was funny. Of all the people to try to sell viagara to, (well, for one thing, I don't have a penis) I seemed an unlikely market. This is, perhaps, scattershot marketing at its worst. It could only be less on target if I were a lesbian seperatist.

But it quit being funny when it rose to 20+ emails a day. Now it's just a blight. Blocking them does no good, of course, as these seem to be coming from expendable email accounts. They used to be in bulk mail, but somehow, now I am getting them in my regular mail also. I wish there was one international "No, I do not take Viagara, and never will, thank you and bugger off please" list one could get on.

Does this drive anyone else mad? Have you been able to make it stop? Please help.

It is an epedemic... how about the subjects that make no sense....

I wish I could help you... I get those and penis enlargement ones, too. First, I have to grow one, though.

Then I get the mail about <last name deleted> of Some Big Oil Company in Africa who, with his wife and two children, died tragically in an auto accident and they, even more tragically, have left no survivors. Can I help launder the money... er... can I help in some way and I will be rewarded handsomely? It seems reporting these emails to the proper authorities gets nothing accomplished except to get MORE of these 419 scams in my inbox instead of my bulk mail.

More seriously, it's almost to the point where I'm just going to set up a whitelist (only X, Y, and Z get through, the rest get zapped automagically) for my main address. I do track the bastards (very rarely have I seen any evidence that females send spam; feel free to skip how women are somehow smarter, and I'll feel free to skip the blond jokes ) down and send reports to their providers, but it rarely seems to actually nail the assholes, who just bounce to the next disposable account.

I get tons of those emails daily. But since I'm using Thunderbird for Email, it has a really nice Junk Mail Filter. It takes out 90% of the crap I've gotten.

My dream-come-true would be to have a program that not only bounces it back to them but totally trashes the system they're using. (think smoke & fire)
