That's f-cking disgusting. I have to ask myself why ANYONE would want to be Press Secretary for this administration. What possible reward could be great enough for a person to stand up there and do that? You know you're lying. Everyone else knows you're lying. When the lies are exposed, you get no support from the White House and you have to stand up and defend the new lies. Damn.

Ari Fleischer couldn't take the constant battering. He finally resigned. Ari was a starry-eyed BUSH campaigner who really believed in Dubya. I imagine being WHPS was a real eye opener and a heart breaker for him. Sucks to have a conscience, eh? McClellan is hard-core, though. He's been supporting Dubya since Texas. Maybe longer. McClellan is part of what Dubya calls "My Texas Mafia." I don't see old Scotty resigning.

I believe that "truthiness" is at work in the Bush Administration.

Definition of truthiness: truthiness refers to the quality of preferring concepts or facts one wishes to be true, rather than concepts or facts known to be true.

This is the only logical explanation I can come up with.

It could have been worse. Oliver North once hoped for a political career (possibly one was promised to him for being the whipping boy over contra) and luckily was defeated. I say luckily primarily because the US credibility might have sunk even lower than it is currently. I actually own a deck of cards that details 52 separate lies that Oliver North told in public. It is, appropriately enough, named "The Pack of Lies." hehe
